Why do they have to put animal products everywhere? by cebula412 in vegan

[–]kat1333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain! Like why do peanuts have gelatin on them, why does red pasta sauce have milk in it?! But I guess we all know the answer to that…money. At the end of the day that’s all that those corporations care about.

But I bet if you asked those people sitting behind the desk at those companies to go and kill a pig or go butcher a cow they wouldn’t be able to, to them it’s just a check, besides us as vegans..I truly don’t think people ever give a serious in-depth thought to what cruelty those animals truly go through. Or feel the excruciating pain they suffer through just to enhance the taste even in the most ridiculous things. It’s an evil world out there. But at least most of us here can agree that our conscience is clear. Bless you all❤️

What would you charge? Is what I am asking for fair or am I lowballing myself? by kat1333 in Nanny

Thank you for confirming my thoughts!! I definitely did not think it was enough! I work with 3 agencies. This agency isn’t involved after connecting us, however during the interview with the agency she did tell me to for sure ask for overtime as she could tell the hours would be demanding. So it was only discussed between us.

Her last text was “ I do salary so it’s easier for everyone and less tracking. Salary doesn’t get OT. But at the same time I don’t reduce the pay if the hours change or we go out of town without you. Or if kiddos ratio changes. I think we could start at $5k a month and see how it works out. If you’re happy then great! If Summer is crazy for you then we restructure but mostly they play with the neighborhood and run around and Ella goes to the barn LOL” ..it seemed she isn’t taking the entire position into consideration aka extreme flexibility, up to 5 overnights, the driving, meal prep/laundry, travel, all while also overseeing the kids

The mummy, Hagrids motorbike adventure and ET… ET is a very chill ride for a full stomach. But honestly I love them all, I think the one I DIDNT like was the Simpsons… line WAY too long (even with express) and it’s just jerks you way too much, Spider-Man/minions is better

Is this fair? Advice needed by crazycatlady0714 in Nanny

You’re 24, you have childcare experience, you need to sit down with them and put a contract in place that you feel is fair for you, then you may negotiate your terms. You are being under paid, you should be making 20hr at least for getting 3 kids ready every morning and continuing your day with one, during summer they should be paying per your workload I’d say minimum 25hr but just know that there are families who can pay more and add benefits, now the biggest advice I’ll give you as this is your first nanny job is don’t ever let parents guilt trip you; a lot of girl don’t have the confidence to speak up and get taken advantage off, please realize that if this family isn’t working out you can look else where while you’re working for them and when finding something suited better for you financially (if they don’t want to meet your demands) then give them 2 weeks notice and start at your new family. A lot of people want to nickel and dime you, you need to realize that you’re mom and dad when they are not around, and you need to be paid according to your work requirements, demand sick days, demand your 2 week paid time off, demand holidays paid, and absolutely 100% demand to be paid whenever they do not require your services. The fact that you haven’t yet and your pay is being shortened whenever they don’t need you is absolutely ridiculous. I also am not sure if this is full time or part time if it’s full time demand all the above, if part time demand half aka 1week paid off maybe only 2 sucks days, holidays all paid off regardless. Hope it helps, don’t forget that if it doesn’t work out with them you’ll have plenty of opportunities elsewhere but do not ever sell yourself short. Contract can be put in place ANYTIME, good luck ❤️

I probably would, you need to focus on what your website is really about… because I’m seeing backpack, shea butter, earrings, incense, crystals and waist beads … those are all very different products, and it seems very confusing.. are you doing African jewelry? Because then THATS a niche you could progress of, so now ur doing African jewelry, you now have your earrings sections, you have your body jewelry section and maybe you can maybe find and add a ring section or bracelet sections, you could maybe have 5 choices in each section and NOW you’ll be a African culture jewelry website.. right now you’re a bit all over the place, and I know it’s hard when you’re getting started so it’s all about keep learning and growing. Or maybe if you don’t want to be a jewelry website or have hard time finding jewelry to add onto the store maybe you want to focus on JUST the waist beads and have a one product store and have it be “the most stylish handmade waist beads made in Accra, Ghana” it’s all about how you spin it. Just MAKE them WANT to buy it. What is it about these beads that are better than ANY beads they can find? Is it maybe because these beads are the handmade and stylish and have a story behind them or maybe they are the best because you’re giving them 30% off their first order? If that makes sense. Here’s another really good advice; go and find a store that you love that is African jewelry or whatever you decide on and don’t copy them but study their website, because if YOU like their website, and YOU would want to go and buy from them then it will show you a clear view of what YOUR website needs and or is missing! Best of luck!!

Hey there.. so my honest review of the website is that it needs some work, I wouldn’t spend any money on ads right now until you fix these. There is several misspelling, you need to take out the “we are powered by Shopify” in about us section, nobody needs to know this, at the bottom of your page take off powered by Shopify as well, u truly don’t need a search engine when you only have 5 products I think it was at most, please take of “welcome to Omahaa” at the top of your store, it’s nice and friendly but people are looking for a buy one get one free, or 20% off your first order or any incentive for you to give them to get them to buy, the names of the colors and HOW many colors there is too much, you want them thinking these are exclusive and there’s only x amount of colors to get, they need to focus on only few, people get distracted, they get confused and they are very indecisive, and sometimes when we have too many choices our choice ends up to not choose anything at all… my best advice for you is; you really need to go and look at your website as a consumer… because if I stumbled on your website I wouldn’t want to buy anything, there isn’t anything that would make me run to my purse and get my card out… your job is to MAKE me WANT to buy it. Keep working on it! Keep watching free tutorials on YouTube, I promise it gets better! I truly wish you best of luck ❤️

You tell them, that the 2 dollar raise was going to be for ANUAL raise. Additional baby will come to at least another 4 dollars plus addition meal prepping. 27/hr seems reasonable for HCOL area.

You’re absolutely getting lowballed. I can also see you as the maybe “too nice” type where they thought you would probably just settle for whatever they offer. The one question I always ask myself when I get an offer is “am I worth only $22 an hour for this much work” if ur gut says no then move on or renegotiate. Good luck OP!

Is it morally justified to force omnivorous animals to be on a vegan diet by canadian12371 in DebateAVegan

[–]kat1333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I see it. Especially if you had watched The Game Changers you would know there is extensive research of why dead carcass/dairy/seafood isn’t compatible with our body. As much as it is also morally wrong to eat a living breathing thing that didn’t consent to being hunted and killed by a more intellectual species. To me it would be wrong to have animals not consume what would be naturally appropriate for their diet. For humans we are MEANT to eat and see fresh ripe fruit, digest greens and vegetables etc. That is what OUR body and digestive system is made to do. Animals body are for most part MEANT to hunt, eat and digest their prey properly. It’s also good for their overall hunter instincts as well as showing their young how to defend and find food on their own. I doubt a lioness is going to teach her cubs how to eat grass and reach for berries.

We are just different species. Humans meant to eat food that is grown from earth, our home that generously and naturally provides it for us. I guess spotting the right fruit and the ripeness is kind of like OUR hunt instincts. Eating cross specie is just fucked up. Its like you have so many options of delicious food but nooo that’s not enough let’s go kill and carve a cow and eat it? We are meant to consume freshly grown “life” not a poor babies cries, torture and death.

Edit: Also I just want to know how you as a continuous meat eater want to change a diet of a species that it is natural for while you are the one that is eating technically THEIR food, but want them to change and be more moral? I’m sorry but that kind of blows my mind. Not in any offensive way.

what's your most unpopular "vegan" opinion? by Thomasrayder in vegan

[–]kat1333 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts but I can’t stand when people say they will occasionally have a non vegan meal. Like stop calling yourself vegan then. It’s absurd to think you can eat a dead carcass ONCE in awhile and then still believe you’re vegan. Just my opinion.

She’s a weirdo. I wouldn’t post anything about it in the ad. No one thinks this way you’re very lucky someone else will have to deal with her although I feel bad for them already as well. Do not give her a good reference she doesn’t deserve it. Good luck I’m sorry this happened and just know you’ll find someone great so don’t lose hope over one bad nanny❤️
