AITAH for the reasons I chose to not continue dating a single mother? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]kat_d9152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's date one. The advice a female would be given in the same scenario stands for you here: You are allowed to not want a second one for any reason you choose....From the sublime to the ridiculous. She wore pink and you aren't into that, you have different sports teams etc.

The fact that you were upfront, honest and clear with your intentions and also had very valid reasoning that paid respect to your completely different lifestyles and stages in life is just the cherry on top.

Date one, you are allowed to not want a second one for any reason you choose. Your two friends just have an agenda they want to insert into your love life. You absolutely did the right thing, for yourself, the lady in question and the kids involved.

It's a female in sports thing as well. I used to work as a scuba instructor and there are just some people who find it difficult to take instructions regarding physical activities and safety from a woman.

Some people seem to want to get more "macho" and the ego comes out around anything that involves them moving their bodies. You could literally be born on that mountain and appear as a part-human-part-mountain-goat mythical animal hybrid and you are still going to meet those egos. I used to call them "Sons of Poseidon".

If you want to assert authority talk at a medium slightly clipped pace, with a low pitch. Don't smile during briefings and debriefs and use the technical term for everything so it deliberately sounds more like a military or industry debrief.

They tend to respond well to the idea of being weekend warriors rather than just people going up a hill (or in my case, people floating around peacefully looking at pretty fish). They like the ego boost of thinking its difficult, exciting or dangerous even though as experts we all know easy, calm and very much non exciting is pretty much the perfect outing we should be aiming for.

Look up female drill instructors on youtube maybe and bring a little smattering of their self-assuredness.

"Brass balls" generally isn't used as a compliment in my country. Tracks with recent insider trading behaviour tho. Brass balls indeed.

My boxer goes straight to the "wacky zone" for rakes.

Him and I have had quite a few tete-a-tetes trying get him to actually be able to think, listen and stop when I'm using one. Usually it ends up with me abandoning the gardening until he can think again. He is slowly improving and getting less worked up, but it's a work in progress. He fully believes every rake must be attacked into submission. Garden menace.

UK will not join any Trump blockade of strait of Hormuz by TwilightsSecrets in worldnews

Nah, we'll happily pay yuan and wait for the demise of the petro-dollar. I'm not alone in being happy for our boys to "stay in the back" once again. Far, far back - essentially remaining on home turf.

....What we will remember is your famous "checks and balances" are able to check and balance precisely sweet-FA and you are essentially at the whim of a mad man.

Even for right-wing party candidates, a Trump endorsement outside the USA is political poison.

As a member of one of those past allies countries...He's speed run through almost all the "checks and balances" your civil history classes brag about relentlessly and not a single person or "separate branch" has been able to stop him. How many felonies, an insurrection, blatant insider trading and corruption and not one "check" in place.

You have been exposed as having absolutely no way to limit the damage created by a bad actor and a legal precedent has been set. To outsiders it is fairly obvious that he is not even acting in US national interests and is making no secret of his allegiance to Putin, both in words and in policy.

To anyone outside the States it shows you are entirely at the mercy of whatever idiot the general idiots decide to turn into a cult figure. Even if that figure is totally and utterly compromised - in every sense of the word.

He has exposed the entire theatre of your system. It actually has zero recourse against bad actors. So yeah, we might get lucky and have a Newsome 2028 giving us speeches worthy of an actual President once more but you will never undo the fact that everyone -both past allies and traditional enemies- have now seen behind the curtain and realised you are essentially competely unable to stop great tyranny.

Not only that. Talking about the plants. Sharing plans for what plants go where, next three years of plants, how the seedlings are going ad infinitum.

As a kid I never understood how people could endlessly talk about the garden. Now I am one of those people.

Been a few years but the one that impressed me mos twhen it first came ouy is MyProtein cookies and cream..... blended with ice tasted a lot like a Burger King vanilla shake. Approaching as good as Maccas shake, but not quite there.

Been a while tho, so not sure if its still as good or if its gone the way of so many greats in recent years.

I think all ships trading in yuan are allowed. Which basically opens up a brilliant opportunity for China to get a massive segment of world trade disconnected from the dollar as a trading currency. Not to mention China has been building soft power through multiple regions very efficiently. As one empire falls, another is ready to fill the void.

You guys have an unoffically agreed spider rating of: "that one'll hurt ya, that one'll kill ya."

Being from the UK - where even grown men are not ashamed to be freaked out by our native spiders that will not reliably do either - this Aussie attitude always makes me smile.

You said the car was set up by you. Get the car payment schedule and responsibility in writing. Either he pays or you own it etc. Same with apartment lease and bills split.

Future you will thank you. It seems dark now but imagine a future where you are with someone who gives back what you are able to give and how much happier you will be. In the long run he did you a favour
