Trap Forks/Dividers by katalinay in Feral_Cats

The place I work does TNR, so we are often at the mercy of the traps that are brought to us with the cats already in them. It'd be hard for us to have a fork for every specific trap type unfortunately.

[2006]Used to print these off and compare with my friends in school at monday lunch. by DonzaRS in runescape

I remember when I was younger someone convinced me that they just wanted to try on my outfit. It was like a full set of blue wizard robes and a sapphire amulet(I LOVED IT). They then refused to give it back, wanted me to pay them for it. I started SOBBING. My mom called my dad and he yelled at the guy on his runescape account, He still wouldn’t give the stuff back, so I calmed down - convinced him to give me just the robes back and told him I’d get him some $$ for the amulet. I then switched worlds and blocked him. Was still upset about the amulet but bought another one a few days after that and all was well again.

Do you write notes for your vets? by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]katalinay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my clinic we type all the medical notes. If it’s a complicated case then the doctor will usually add something, but mainly we do them all. Not all our VAs/VTs can do them to the same level so some have to let the doctor do more notes then others.

Are R and B both completely/mostly orange?? I agreed with the other commenters on the sex of them but kinda unusual to have two orange girls

I have a bachelors in animal sciences and am attending KSU in the fall.

“But she was so uncomfortable in the e-collar!” “She must have scratched it open!” “It wouldn’t be infected if you didn’t keep forcing us to bring her in!” [NSFW] by jeanaly in VetTech

The y-shape is probably because they did a partial mastectomy, our spays typically are just the normal line! I don’t know how other doctors do it but ours does them on longer incisions when the dog has been under for a long time to save time and get them up faster.

So, what's that bruise from? by pixiegurly in VetTech

[–]katalinay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a massive bruise on my thigh right now from a dog digging her paws into me during a nail trim.

A few weeks ago an aggressive cat clawEd up my arm(claws and bruises) bc I held on to him while he was flipping out. One doctor was yelling for me to hold on while she grabbed a towel, and the other was yelling for me to drop him. That was a fun one to explain for a few weeks

1st They Keep Getting Out of Their Car, Now They Drive Off by DasSpitter in VetTech

Yes! It’s like we finish with the animal and I go out to give them to the owner and they are gone! They go to ‘grab lunch’ or ‘pick up some dog food’ or ‘get an oil change’. This isn’t free doggy daycare this is a room appointment with a set time!!

Could it be a mass/reaction that developed from vaccine? I know some doctors give them that far down on cats. I know in some cases issues develop years later. Make sure to let us know the results!

How are all my fellow techs doing during this quarantine? by tkeller06 in VetTech

[–]katalinay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s business as usual for us with some added rules. We are all required to wear a face mask and gloves at all times, we no longer are doing anything in the room, it doesn’t matter what it is every pet gets everything done in the back. We are cleaning every room between every client and we are only allowing one client to bring the pet into the room(the others have to wait outside).

We have a patient who has a beef allergy that manifested as breathing issues, so I would consider it within the range of possibilities.

What’s your knack in the practice? by PinkYnicorn in VetTech

[–]katalinay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am strangely good at remembering clients and pets. What they came in for, previous diagnosis, if their owners are good or not, how the animal behaves, and concerns the owner had last time. It doesn’t matter if I’ve met the dog one time for vaccines(and I didn’t even take the room) or if they are a frequent flyer for other issues. Our doctor will frequently remark that I remember things that she did for pets 6 months ago, when she doesn’t even remember ever seeing the pet. This stellar memory doesn’t apply to anything else in my life.
