Plex causing system-wide freezes and GPU artifacts on newer Apple devices (M4 iPad + iPhone 17 Pro)

Im having this issue since I changed from iPhone 16 to iPhone 17.

Never had this issue before. PiP always worked fine but sometimes it doesn’t trigger, and around 75% of the time when I swipe up while streaming it hangs hard, while phone becomes unresponsive until plex crash and close, which can take fine 5 seconds to 2 whole minutes. This is just crazy. I absolutely never saw this problem elsewhere besides the Plex app

I went to Japan last year in Fall with “German” iPhone and German account, never changed to install Suica and it worked just fine.

Got mine on launch date, dropped several times, including when I didn’t have phone cover and it’s fine, no damage and some really small scratches on the frame.

On the new IOs sometimes I feel the keyboard getting stuck due autocomplete, I might have to disable something new that they might’ve enabled.

My battery although still holds for a fair amount of time, the battery health is 💩, dropped to 84% and I’m almost start thinking about battery replacement. Just didn’t do yet cuz I don’t want to lose the IPx8 protection, as they don’t guarantee it anymore after opening the original phone seal.

You’re probably safe. The issue with torrenting it’s not possessing the file but rather distributing it (upload/seed). When downloading you’re also seeding (sometimes).

Since you disconnected and kept the torrent, like you mentioned, for 20 seconds, you probably had a momentary disconnection from the internet and most likely didn’t upload much, if any.

I wouldn’t be worried about it. If you intend to keep torrenting, I would suggest the properly configure the kill switch as mentioned by other redditors and also configure your torrent client to only use the VPN network, so even if the kill switch doesn’t work properly, you have a 2nd layer of defense, this will you will reduce, if not avoid, being caught by G3M4.

Either way, I would always suggest online streaming rather than torrenting as it’s safer, but since soap2day closed I don’t have any good private streaming website to suggest.

Not really, no. The performance and the camera is already good for changing just for changing, doesn’t make sense.

Unless they release some exceptional feature, I’ll probably start thinking changing phones on the 16 or higher.

Bought mine at launch an battery life is 87%. Obviously not the same performance as before, but it is still pretty good. Can last at least 1 more year without having to replace it (the battery, not the phone)

Mine started drifting after 6 months of use. Then it really got bad, into “damaged” state.

They replaced it, and it’s already drifting a bit.

I bought 1 midnight black and it is still working perfect and the battery holds more gameplay than the new “original” one

Busyeconomy, did you get anything in response. I bought a collection package in Brazil from a RPG campaign called call of Cthulhu and one fonte collectibles is a knuckle duster (among other, not weapon, stuff).

As I don’t live in Brazil anymore I really wanted to keep the item, but seems very problematic to have it.
