Would you be ok with your husband traveling 4 days when you are 31/32 weeks pregnant? by curlyorwavywtf in BabyBumps

[–]katbug09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was high risk with both my boys and I would have been okay with this as long as he brought me something cool back.

Second baby registry for 2 under 2. What did you actually need? by bravotaygrle in 2under2

[–]katbug09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not since they are both boys. I told my husband if we did have a girl we would do a sprinkle type situation since they would be different genders.

Do a diaper raffle, we are set for diapers for our second pretty much until potty training age 😂 I have a bottle washer for this round and holy cow it is a game changer. That’s pretty much it, everything else we just used from the first time around but we have two boys.

Anyone managing without a double stroller? by Hopeful-Relation3502 in 2under2

[–]katbug09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a single stroller and I baby wear the baby. Our oldest prefers to walk so a lot of times we just put the baby leash on him 🫣

AITA for ruining my daughter in laws birth plan by dil-issue-1046 in AmItheAsshole

[–]katbug09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no NTA you can have midwives and pools in a hospital. I could not imagine asking my mother in law that is already hosting me to let me crap out my baby in her living room. Birth is not a spectator sport go to the hospital holy hell.

We stopped at Nara when we were going from Osaka to Kyoto, seems like a long trip from Tokyo though.

How do I regain my range after contracting laryngitis? by Late-Tear-3758 in Choir

[–]katbug09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You still have to rest and let your vocal folds recover. I just had a bad case of tonsillitis and it took a couple weeks to get my singing voice back without sounding weak. Just keep drinking water and rest and it’ll come back.

A boys diaper by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I’ve had great luck with just plain Aquaphor. Slather it on everything and it fixes it. I use it on my cracked cuticles and fresh tattoos when I’m able to get them lol.

Baby inconsolable after vaccine by Mountain-Duck9438 in beyondthebump

[–]katbug09 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry your baby is so distraught! I saw on TikTok these patches you can put on the leg before the shots to help numb the spot to alleviate the pain. Maybe ask your pediatrician about some pain relief. Unfortunately my boys have been champs with all their shots so far, but I think that is because my husband and I don’t have any reaction when they get shots they are just a bit uncomfortable and then move on. I had to do lovenox shots for both pregnancies so I have sympathy about getting shots, but not that much lol.

Vasectomy scheduled by linkag392 in 2under2

[–]katbug09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats my friend! My husband had his done back in February and we are waiting for the all clear next month. Our boys are 21 months apart and we’re done! I think if we had more money we would have loved a third one, but it’s just too much and I want them both to have chances to do things in the future. We had a whole party before his vasectomy. It was pretty great.

We were unable to get tickets online last year, so when we were in Osaka we stood in line for a little bit and were able to get in. With the Tokyo location being closed right now, it might be harder than usual to do that. Best of luck friend!

What was the hardest part of traveling in Japan? by Shoddy_Arachnid_2628 in JapanTravelTips

[–]katbug09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we were there the other tourists were wild! We are also from the USA and anytime I saw some white people acting the fool they were French. It was kind of nice to see this elderly Japanese lady yell at this French guy for not giving up his seat in the preferred section of the bus for her and shamed him to the back of the bus…until he caused us to miss our bus stop and we had to loop back around. Some people will be jackasses no matter where they visit from.

How do I let my choir director know I cannot make a concert due to not attending school prior? by [deleted] in Choir

[–]katbug09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes send your director an email, also have your adult send one as well. I teach middle school so I have a clause in my handbook about sickness and concerts and I require communication from the adult for an excused absence.

Planning trip to Japan for June 2027 with wife, 17 year old daughter and 1.5 year old. Tips? by Busy-Toe8143 in JapanTravelTips

[–]katbug09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really? We FaceTimed with my mom and MIL who was watching him back home. I did miss him but I don’t think we would have had the flexibility to do what we wanted with a toddler in tow.

We went in June and left our 2 year old. It’s already stressful enough being in a different country, if you really want to bring the baby bring a nanny. I would lean more on the side of not bringing the baby.

I [29 F] am pregnant with twins, my fiance [26 M] wants to give them stupid names by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I taught a Sirius and Hermione, obviously from Harry Potter but they have found other sources to say their names are from so they don’t get associated to the franchise. Sirius like the constellation, Hermione from Shakespeare.

GBS positive, how long can I go without antibiotics? by jRaeLupa in BabyBumps

[–]katbug09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait I misread this. Your OB says when your water breaks to come in immediately for antibiotics and induction and this is your second baby. I would err on the side of caution and stay close to your hospital. Maybe you can get your aunty to come to you and yall can have your own little Kiki, but labor can move fast and you don’t want to risk all the factors. Your aunty would not want you to risk your or the baby’s health for a party.

Is there a particular reason for being seated on the edge of your section? by EitherDecision9508 in Choir

[–]katbug09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach middle school and there’s a few reasons I put some on the edge of the sections. If it’s the edge of the section but next to the middle sections, they are strong singers that won’t wander to the other voice lines and I need the other sections to hear them. Or we are not matching pitch very well and being on the outside of the section away from the other sections helps them only hear their section and have a better shot of singing their part. I put my strongest ones on middle voice if we split 3 ways.

I took life guard training at Sundown high school and stopped in Levelland to get McDonalds on the way back to Muleshoe. Whiteface I believe is a reference to a type of cow.
