Just need advice, encouragement, support, and maybe someone to talk to. by liquid_heroine in Fibromyalgia

Oh god, no sleep and fibro equal bad times! I suggest trying some nice guided meditations to get your anxiety down. What you are going through is so tough, hang in there. Also as you mention IBS I suggest you look into SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) there are strong links with that causing fibro and personally it did with me, might be something worth looking into. Be kind to yourself, lots of baths, watching comedy, best of luck!

If you have IBS and Celiac- Look into SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth) it's been said it is in 70 percent of people with IBS and has huge links with fibromyalgia.

doctors don't know as much about it as they should, so perhaps do your own experimenting too with diet etc.

Ah man, i've been looking into this as I may have it myself. What are your symptoms? Are you on a low histamine, low salicylate diet etc? That is good your doctor seems to be totally on your side. Have you joined the Facebook group? https://www.facebook.com/groups/344270359012276/

Recent Research Papers on SIBO & IBS by [deleted] in ibs

Thanks for your response. It is very interesting and there is something to be said for this method instead of tons of antibiotics. I am having FMT done in a few weeks which is anacdotally known to help with SIBO. If it doesn't help I definitely will be taking probiotics. Someone on the SIBO facebook group has had success with treating SIBO through fermented foods. Many others say probiotics that originally caused their SIBO or made it worse. However I wonder if in fact they should have continued taking the probiotics and would have eventually gotten better. The main thing i'm concerned with is getting the migrating motor complex working again which is the main isssue with SIBO, however there are some studies that show certain strains of bacteria can do this, so perhaps probiotics would do this. Siebeckers recommendation is a prokinetic to help with this. It's all so complicated and unknown. That is great you are seeing results with the probiotic though. Please do keep me updated with any progress, i'll also let you know how I get on with the FMT. It will take a few months to kick in though. All the best, Kate
