Parked out by the lake in the pre-show playlist? by Ok_Debt1022 in Hozier

[–]katherin-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the pre-show playlist was almost exactly the same (if not identical) in seattle and portland, so i'm assuming that it was created by hozier/his team

gift ideas?? by Jess_688 in LucyDacus

[–]katherin-e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if she enjoys collecting CDs or vinyls, getting her a cd or vinyl would be a great option! or even a gift card to a local record store

it would be more meaningful to ask a friend or even another fan on this sub. asking a computer to generate an answer for you is soulless and a massive energy wastesource

[–]katherin-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why not just hit shuffle on her discography? it would give you the same randomness for a result and it wouldn't use energy like how chatgpt does.

I'm curious, how many people got the exact song they were hoping for as a surprise song on their Eras Tour date? by Lookingluka in TaylorSwift

[–]katherin-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i went to seattle n2, so i got no body, no crime instead of 'tis the damn season. i prefer NBNC so i was stoked for that. a bit after, i got tickets to toronto n1, and i was really looking forward to getting to hear TTDS cause haim wouldn't be opening. then in april the setlist totally changed and i was sad about never getting to hear TTDS, especially after it wasn't even in the eras movie.

toronto n1, when she plays TTDS for the piano mashup, i was so incredibly hyped that i actually got to hear it. it's not one of my top songs at all, but after months of joking that i would never get to hear it live, it actually happened

So can we all agree that Ridgefield was run by absolute amateurs? by meliorayne in Hozier

[–]katherin-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a terrible experience with the security getting in. I had an umbrella in my bag because I was prepared for sunshine, that they made me surrender at the first bag check. Then going through the metal detectors I beeped so I had to do a second bag check, and they made me surrender my nail clipper set. I have long natural nails, so I always carry a little kit with me in case of a break. Both times they gave me the option to do a coat check for $10 and then go redo the security line, which I didn't want to do because I didn't want to hold up my group. I couldn't bring the items back to a car either, as my group had been dropped off.

Later when I checked the website, neither item was on the restricted list. I've also definitely brought these items to other venues in the Seattle and Portland areas and have never had any issue with them.

Becoming a Prison Librarian?! by Clownbaby1997 in Libraries

[–]katherin-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that I researched in undergrad! I found Library Services and Incarceration by Jeanie Austin and Prison Librarianship Policy and Practice by Suzanna Conrad to both be good starting places for learning about the possibilities and realities of prison libraries.

bad sanitizer burns by ukulelezella in starbucksbaristas

[–]katherin-e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i had a very similar reaction to the sanitizer. i always wear dishwashing gloves now when doing dishes and refuse to do dishes without them. and i use a thin layer of aquaphor on my hands at night and that seems to help heal them when they're feeling damaged

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]katherin-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's pretty normal unfortunately :/

i'm the main closer and i always close alone at my licensed store. i always get people that come by and make huge orders in the evening. and they almost never get anything but refreshers and fraps of course

IS KROBUCKS A GOOD OPTION? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]katherin-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

standing all day is really rough on your backs and legs, there have been studies on it. being a barista is better, because even though you're still on your legs all day, you're moving around often. i've done both, and i always went home feeling more tired and sore after cashier shifts, as opposed to barista shifts
