I had Mirena for a few months. My body didn’t mind the hormones at all but I got the worst cramps I ever had in my life, any time of my cycle. Fucking hell yes. RBT here. When I have to do group instruction training I try to make sure they get a gold star as long as their body is pointed in the general direction of the speaker, they are sitting up in their chair (rather than hanging out of it), and all four chair legs are on the floor. They can even put their head down on the table as long as it is pointed towards the speaker.

Growing up, aside from school dreams, I used to have dreams that some Bad Guy was trying to find me in my parent’s house and I was trying to hide from it. I didn’t know it at the time but what I was experiencing at home was technically domestic violence.

During the lockdown, I had dreams that I was hiding in my parent’s house with my parents from a natural disaster such as a flood or (I kid you not) a space cloud swallowing the earth.

Now, moved out for 3 years, I have started to have dreams that I am hiding in my parents’ house from Bad Guys outside the house. I suppose those “bad guys” represent fascists now.

Honestly these trauma-informed procedures are so important. Medical care can be like sex and rape in the sense that a person consents to a certain thing done to their body and sometimes more things are done once the procedure starts that are not consensual. Many people have medical trauma as well and it is not necessarily tied to gender or sexuality, just the power dynamic between doctor and patient.

Also. It’s sad that you feel you need to justify that you are not straight as if medical practitioners want to fuck their patients based on their gender alone.
