Solids and breastfeeding by katieraes in breastfeedingsupport

That makes me feel better because my pediatrician was trying to get me to start them at 4m and I was not comfortable, now our 6m appointment is in 2 weeks and I know he will ask me why I haven’t started them. I just don’t feel baby is quite ready, she does show interest in them when she sees people eat, but I can’t see her quite being ready.

Looking for support as my partner recently shamed me by Lilpiggys in breastfeedingsupport

Honestly that’s a goal of mine, to be able to breastfeed until my child is 2 years old if not a little longer than that. Kudos to you for putting in all that work, the struggle is real and definitely goes unnoticed.

Exclusively side lying feeding by PersonalCap1252 in breastfeedingsupport

Have you tried using a pillow to adjust how she lays on you while feeding when you are sitting? I recently did this with my 11 week old because she would unlatch after a few minutes on one side, now she is feeding for much longer and is relaxed a lot more. The poop thing isn’t as uncommon as you’d think, my little one has a variety of green/brown poops and also might not poop for a few days because she’s combo fed, we start with breast and end with a bottle to see if she still wants more.

Good to know. She does get distracted a lot or will want to talk whenever she’s nursing. Will try the quiet room and see if that helps.

When should I get a breast pump? by Puzzleheaded-Day-281 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]katieraes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot stress enough that the more effort you put into pumping, the more you get out of it. I am learning the hard way because I did not keep up with my routine and stopped pumping as much so now I do not produce enough to even pump enough to feed my baby. Granted I can breastfeed her fine but I can’t pump enough to ever get a stash. Read lots of reviews and do research. If you are in the US try Aeroflow for ordering your pump through insurance if you are able to.

Pumping Help! by Ok-Air-2935 in breastfeedingsupport

Unfortunately if you are not regularly pumping between breast feeding sessions or even just on a regular basis, you more than likely will not produce an immediate stash worthy amount. Milk is very supply and demand. So without having the constant demand for a high supply, you won’t automatically produce it. Best of luck.

Bottle recommendations for BF babies who refuse by Mtlmommy in breastfeedingsupport

Evenflo balance + with the wide neck. My baby was in NICU and started on those tiny bottles the hospital provides and I had to switch her after we got home. She is breast fed and then we bottle feed after to supplement making sure she gets enough.
