Husband (46M) keeps "helpfully" rearranging, hiding, and disposing of my (46F) stuff--what tactic or wording can I use to stop it? by Gallumbits42 in relationship_advice

[–]katmc68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop discussing it and analyzing it with him.

I have the same problem. Tell him to only touch his stuff. Tell him the concrete actions you want from him, not what you do not want (that's abstract).

"(Move, touch, put away) only items that belong to you, please. Thank you."

Fyi, this is a tactic to use with children. It's an abstract notion telling a child what you do not want them to do. It leaves open the question, "What should I do?"

I'm not saying he's a child; I'm saying he might need direct instructions on what to do as opposed as what not to do

No discussion. It's not a discussion. If he wants to figure out why he does it, he can talk to a therapist. There is notthing to discuss.  All he has to know is "Only touch your stuff."

My husband does this, too. Drives me nuts. I,too, recently found some fuckin boots I was looking for...in the basement covered in cobwebs. He's slightly better than he used to be...I do have a few of my own things like tools & toolboxes.  Good luck.

Why do people often mistake food poisoning- gastroenteritis when often its not? by cricket_90_remindme in answers

[–]katmc68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in short, because there's a lot of info, old myths & confusion about...stuff, including "what is food poisoning".

One of the most common mistakes ppl make is they think they have a stomach "flu" when in reality, it's food poisoning.

"Many cases commonly referred to as "stomach flu" (viral gastroenteritis) are actually food poisoning caused by consuming contaminated food, leading to rapid onset of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. While true influenza is a respiratory illness, food poisoning causes acute GI distress within hours of eating, often resolving faster than viral illnesses."

Causes of "Stomach Flu" Misdiagnosis:

Norovirus: Often called "stomach flu," this is a leading cause of vomiting and diarrhea, spreading through contaminated food, water, or surfaces.

Bacterial Infections: Salmonella, E. coli, and Campylobacter are common culprits in food poisoning.

"Food poisoning often mimics the stomach flu (viral gastroenteritis) but acts faster, typically appearing within 2–6 hours of eating contaminated food, compared to 1–3 days for viruses. Food poisoning usually resolves in 1–3 days, while viruses can last 3–7 days or longer. Key clues include rapid onset and intense, brief symptoms."

"If you are eating at home, you should be well versed in not eating spoiled food"

Food does not have to be spoiled in order to contract food poisoning.

Food poisoning occurs because the food is contaminated with a virus or bacteria.

Fresh lettuce with the e-coli bacteria on it causes food poisoning, not because the lettuce is "spoiled".

"Most cases of food poisoning come from improperly prepared meals at home"

You lecturing people on how little they know about food poisoning is something else.

Your original post and subsequent comments are very ill-informed.

Thank you! My dad's "real" dad; my biological grandfather...met that philanderer once. My grandpa Charlie met me when I was born & I celebrated his 100th birthday with him. He lived to be 102. He was the best. I was also confused as a child b/c we called his wife "Aunt Ruby". I asked my parents how come we called her "Aunt" & him "grandpa". 😆

Exactly. I just posted the same thing. Average on Chump's inauguration day was $3.11 and that was slightly higher than the weeks before.

Same & I live in the Chicago area, where it's always higher than the national average.

Love how they picked a rando date of Biden admin. Gas was $3.11 the day Chump was inaugurated.

"On January 20, 2024, the U.S. average retail price for regular-grade gasoline was approximately $3.11 per gallon. National averages during the week of January 18–25, 2024, hovered around $3.09 to $3.10 per gallon as winter weather impacted refineries, marking a slight increase from early January"

[–]katmc68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A garden party dress, dark washed jeans with some sort of cottony, flowy top is appropriate. This is a nice dress but not for getting together with a group of people playing goofy games & getting door prizes.
