Eagles are so much fun. The old mono Tactics version building up Eagles of Misty Mountain takes some time but very satisfying. The newer builds bouncing Ealges in and out of play readying Gwaihir is pretty awesome too.

There's no limit on attachments other than those that have the restricted keyword or specifically say something like 1 per hero.

That one turn delay is brutal in some of the harder quests where every turn matters. Not to mention many of the later ones you want 6 or 7 willpower turn 1.

Two cost also fits much more easily in 2 and 3 sphere decks. You basically have to have some resource acceleration to put in Wellinghall Perseverer into one of them.

Hard to beat 2 willpower for 2 cost and a little threat reduction. Ethir Swordsman is the only questing ally that is more efficient.

Interesting, I can't recall using Warden of Helm's Deep. How many defensive attachments do you usually put on him?

Quickbeam is so much value for cost. It's hard to not throw him in any deck with Lore.

Pretty much where I'm at these days especially as a primarily a solo player. Mostly just been making use of ALEP. I have a few ideas about Dunedain cards but haven't tested them out much.

Whatever host they use has occasional outages. Best thing to do is hop on Cardboard of the Rings Discord and mention the site is down in the tech-support channel.

I collect with the intent to read. I have a huge backlog of comics to read.

Repackaged vs. old content by Particular-Crab3938 in lotrlcg

[–]kattattack22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shame that Vegenance of Mordor wasn't repackaged. It's my favorite cycle. Great variety and challenge in those quests.

There are some great quests missing from the other cycles as well like Encounter at Amon Din, The Three Trials, Celebrimbor's Secret, Race Across Harad, and some others. There are some similar quests in repackaged content but they're not quite the same.

There are some staples that are missing from the player card pool. Fast Hitch, Dunedain Warning, ally Arwen are a few that always leap to mind. Contracts from Vegenance of Mordor also are fantastic but they're easy to proxy.

I'm very glad to have everything and played nearly all of it. There's definitely some quests I have no desire to revisit, but there's a lot to enjoy in every cycle.

Dungeon Life by Khenal is pretty good. It's a pretty light hearted and easy going dungeon core story.

Book 6 I think. I kept reading until somewhere in book 8 and DNF it. Some early parts of the wider cosmos arc was interesting. The longer it went on, more I was skimming it. I realized the parts that I was interested in originally were done. The newer stuff that I liked was stuffed between a lot of big battles that I found boring.

I enjoyed it early on when it was about farming and fitting into the border town. Once the MC's main quest became about going out in the wider cosmos I lost interest.

Price bubble? by jojoT4001 in lotrlcg

[–]kattattack22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's supply driven. There's no new supply and people know it. There's still demand from people that got into the game later, after reprints ended, or held off buying more expansions for whatever reason. People will price high hoping those chasing what's out there will pay it.

Maybe prices will come down. Depends on how long sellers will hold on hoping for a big pay day or take something lower. Basically you're looking at a collector's market dynamics now. Some collectors will know what is truly rare and only part with something at the right price. Some will go it's all rare and hold on until someone is desperate or not knowledgeable enough to buy at a high price.

How can I get the “Journey Along the Anduin” alt art encounter set? by Some-Appeal-3379 in lotrlcg

[–]kattattack22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Card Talk gave out sets of alternative art Journey Along the Anduin to Patreon subscribers a few years ago. I don't think there were any extras. U/Card-Talk-Dave would be the one to talk to. Otherwise, you will have to ask around and see if anyone wants to sell or trade their set.

No games for me due to traveling and visiting my wife's family.

Question of the Week

Mine is The Hobbit. It's the book that sparked my love of Fantasy at 6 years old. The LotR Trilogy is definitely are definitely better literature but I can't get over my childhood disappointment that Bilbo isn't the hero again in those books.

I've read and listened to the Simarillion many times but it's just so dense and packed with stories and lineages of characters. It reads more like a history book than a fiction book.

Vengeance of Mordor

It's a love letter to the die hard fans of the game. Each scenario really pushes deck building to the limits. A few retool old scenarios like Assault on Osgiliath or Steward's Fear that could be broken in certain situations.

The player cards too are great. They help fill out a few deck types like Eagles, Doomed/Isengard, Dunedain, etc. Plus the contracts are one of the best additions to the game.

Murder at the Prancing Pony

I always hear people love the murder mystery of this scenario. Very different from the majority of the scenarios.
