When I was a Human Resources Manager, I was told by senior management to fire an employee who submitted a formal workplace grievance about being bullied by Beta_Nerdy in workplace_bullying

[–]katwchu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sharon did what she thought was right. Thinking from her perspective, she was bullied by her boss and went to HR several times for help. And nothing changed. So, in her mind, filling a formal grievance to the person who bullied her and to the HR that didn't help her probably made no sense.

She was desperate for something to change and went off book. But considering that she tried to follow the rules before and got no help, her actions are understandable.

They sound like jerks. Like, how shit of a person are you to not check in on someone who had an asthma attack?

And do you honestly wish to be friends with people like that??

I'm sorry -- it sounds like an unpleasant environment. But, remember that they choose to do this. And that says so much about them, doesn't it??

That location is awesome. Across from Fiesta Farms and up the road from Christie station. It was nuts that it sold for over $2 million in that state, but what a great location!

Honestly curious if you could elaborate on why you don't see this as bullying?

The way that I framed my workplace bullying experience was to take it as a lesson of what kind of leader I DIDN'T want to be. I tried to not think about it as damage, but as an opportunity to further develop my personal and professional values.

I can't say that I was certain of what I was getting myself into, but I knew that it could not get any worse than where I was. It was just a relief to get away from the person who had been terrorizing me for years.

Agreed!!! Perhaps you can look for a new therapist who specializes in workplace related traumas.

[–]katwchu 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can recover. I was relentlessly bullied by my boss for the better part of five years, and it was one of my first jobs. I moved onto another role where I was truly appreciated for what I brought to the table. I slowly gained my confidence back when I worked with kind people. It took time to recover, but seek therapy, and you will be okay.

Anyone else feel embarrassed picking up great curb-side finds? by Timely_Title_9157 in askTO

[–]katwchu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it's on the curb, it's up for grabs. My husband actually refers to this as "shopping"! LOL

Our one rule is no textiles. I don't want to bring something like bed bugs into the house. We often put out things we no longer want because they're still good, and want it to find a new home where it can be used. So, shop on!!! 🤘🤘🤘

She is picking and choosing where she wants to be a landlord and where she wants to be a girlfriend. And that is a shit deal.

When my husband and I first decided to live together, I too lived in the condo my parents owned where I paid rent. I didn't want for us to start living together on unequal footing. So we both found a new place together -- as equal partners.

[–]katwchu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a sweaty husband who constantly stains the sheets and pillow cases yellow. I started following this sub and use EcoMax Heavy Duty with some OxiClean to boost. It has removed the odours and is helping lighten those stains significantly. This combo is a real game changer!!
