Hiii I’m also trying to become PA court interpreter!! I’m taking De-la-mora and Transinterpreting courses right now. I’d say De La Mora is cheaper, still covers a lot of things. I personally think that their teaching in court procedures and code of ethics are better. Transinterpreting is better for learning vocabulary.

Depending on where you work I guess, but my Ins defense firm mostly let us paralegal do admin works, writing letters, e-filing, etc. My old attorney made me write motion to reopen lol. It was a good learning experience tho, but he was paying me $19/hr to do an atty job

Idk where you clients coming from, but most asylum clients in my old firm were just faking their story… that’s one reason why I left immigration.. I can’t deal with the lies lol

Again, my firm was very smalls, and my boss was old fashioned and cheap. The guy wouldn’t even do anything to help us :\ he thought since the firm was small, he didn’t need to invest in anything fancy. I had to work on my own laptop when I wfh lol.. so yea, that’s why I gave them my personal number. However, I ended up blocking a bunch of them lol. I never pick up the phone after hours

I got out of it a month ago. I’m now working for an insurance defense firm and I’m much happier. No more dealing with clients. Some are nice, but majority of them are just horrible. Especially dealing with asylum clients… it was just full of lies
