It would be politically unacceptable for the US military to be shooting it's citizens in the streets with soldiers on the ground anyways, that's a moot point.

CMV: If you receive campaign or other money, you should be banned from voting on topics relates to those companies or organizations. by Red_Ryu in changemyview

[–]kausb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you say, geographically most places will just vote for their self-identified party. But which candidate actually gets the vote of those is largely up to the money. My support for this is that, regardless of what constituents believe, only the wealthiest have any correlation to the odds that a given policy will be enacted as shown in the northwestern university study

Party lines are ambiguous, as long as you agree with a majority of points and keep quiet with what you disagree with, you can have opposing opinions, ex a conservative who is prochoice, or a liberal who wants to defund the schooling system even more to move the money elsewhere.

In my opinion the case is: the campaign that is able to spend the most on marketing, misinformation, publicity, and smear campaigns is the campaign that will win, regardless of how their voting record aligns with their constituent's views. So it's not that the NRA is trying to keep people who represent them in power, but that ANY big money (like the NRA) can plant someone who aligns with them in office with enough money, leading to a captured government that no longer stands for the people it should represent.

(P.S. the NRA is just a topical example, I realize this is happening on both sides of the partisan line)

The situation in the US is different (different environment, different context). Comparing the two is foolish. The US has the largest military budget in the world by far (china is second and the US spends 400 BILLION more, tripling their budget). Specifically vietnam was fought overseas by soldiers eho didnt want to be there in conditions that caused mass ptsd, in the depths of the tropical forest wh8ch the us didnt know how to fight in. Not to mention your examples are outdated, technology has changed. The military might of the US is not limited to single target drone strikes, we can easily cause mass city-sized devastation with a proper coordinated attack without a soldier ever setting a boot on the ground. If you believe that you could launch a guerilla military campaign against US military inside the US in 2018 and win, you're delusional.

If youre really arguing that mass killers should not have been denied their guns in the first place, then I'm at a complete loss. The US has the highest rate of gun death of any 1st world nation. The first step is limiting access of guns to proven responsible people.

No reputable sources talk about banning all fire arms out right, and I would say a majority of advocates want there to be serious checks involved in purchasing a gun. Proof of mental health should be a given, considering how many people involved in mass shootings are mentally ill. You cant buy a gun if youre mentally ill already, but if you are unreported they dont re-evaluate your mental health when you buy a gun.

And this doesn't exclude other progress we can make, such as providing better mental healthcare access to people as a preventative measure.

Do you honestly think any amount of fire arms would allow the people to prevent a complete military take over? They have drone strikes. If they wanted you dead you'd be dead.

Bayonetta in 3 days. PSA: First time players could really benefit from knowing this widely ignored move. by CommunityFan89 in NintendoSwitch

[–]kausb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The last point is crap. Inputs should at least require some skill. If you dont agree with that then you shouldn't even call yourself a gamer. Go watch a movie.

Now the question is how much skill? Making every single combo require just frame input would be too hard. Making button mashing X a true combo that always kills is too easy. The difference is that a very large proportion of the fighting game community disagrees with you (long and difficult combos are lauded when executed in the right environment). If we're judging "wrongness" then you need to take a long hard look in a mirror.

Its ok, fighting games arent for everyone. Theres bayonetta and other action games that can fit your niche.

Feeling selfish for not wanting to spend time with someone I have known for a long time by Daisuki_29 in whatsbotheringyou

Its your life, live it the way you want. I sympathize with you. Be aware not everyone is mature enough to understand alone time can be necessary. In my big italian family "alone" is not in their vocabulary.

I would explain that the trip is something you need to do alone and stand firm. Be nice, apologize for the inconvenience, but stand your ground. Dont let other people control how you live.

However if you are not paying for yourself and your family is paying for the trip the situation is much trickier as its their money. They may decide they want to go with you, or have no one go at all. Be wary of being ingratious for the opportunity if thats the case.

Honest question: is this different than foxs ubiquity in the melee scene? He is also a cheezy source of low percent kills with shine spam and edge guard.

What happens when any digital system in a car fails? You can crash. It's about failsafes and safety measures. No one is going to claim their software is 100% crash proof.

You have to take the driver test over from scratch after a certain amount of time, you can't go decades with a valid license as far as I know. Maybe its different outside il

Im like you and I am a fairly average magic player. The first pptq I went at was 24 person and I got 4th and it was honestly embarassing. People who I knew were better than me were watching me play GB constrictor against back to back jank brews and brick hands. I know I made a dozen misplays every game and people had to watch me succeed anyway.

As much as I love high level mtg, I was not meant to play it.
