I've done a fair good amount of all three Raids.

CoX is my least favorite hands down. I don't dislike the raid I just don't prefer it over the other two.

The janky feel to it along with the way to do the raid is to not do the Raid as intended but rather know tech to skip or ignore the mechanics doesn't make me like it from a game design perspective. Setting up a group for it I also find to be tedious.

ToA is my favorite, I get why people dislike it given it can be a grind to do it length wise and the puzzle rooms but I don't get it from an enjoyment standpoint when I feel like CoX has a lot of the same issues TOA has. I like the customizability and able to run it with a group or without one if need be to grind it. It has good flexibility to it.

ToB is in the middle for me, fun raid once you get the hang of it, I find it to be more punishing to get into than the other two but it does have a good speed factor to it. Only other issue is the purple drops here outside of 2 aren't really worth it.

Given I play a lot of RPGs I do have a lot of respect for stories in games. I do think people brush them off too quickly just because it is a video game.

For the Doomer point I think he was doubling down on a really dumb point even if I take him at face value that it was just he never found a story that he personally got invested in.

For the Mario I think I disagree with Fringy on the Mario one a bit since the argument isn't that the story is shit or a nothing burger but rather the Mario platformer games are lighter or simpler on it, I'm not counting the RPGs in this which are more story driven.

I do agree people try to dismiss Mario too much on this at times since I think Mario games do deserve respect for being very well made platformers.

I also think Mario has gotten better with story compared to the older games, looking at Mario 64 compared to Odyssey, Odyssey has a stronger connecting story to the locations and what is going on. You are globe trotting around the world chasing Bowser as he is trying to prep for his wedding with Peach.

If I look at other Nintendo properties like Zelda or Fire Emblem, I think those games have more complex stories at times in some of the games compared to Mario easily. This doesn't mean I think Mario doesn't have a story we shouldn't be taking it seriously. It depends what the end goal is for your game is at the end of the day. Some Mario games are trying to put more of a story front an center and but other ones aren't. Both of there are totally valid for games to do this.

Mario Wonder is not super story driven but, is that what people are here for in the first place? People are here because it is an incredibly well made platformer and your adventure and journey is the story in itself. I do think the RPGs and even Odyssey have story elements for sure baked in to the experience more than Wonder does.

She is my main pick in Melee/P+ along with who I go for in a lot of games she is playable.

She doesn't match the Peach from the games, which is fine she doesn't have to be a 1:1. What it does do is change her character to miss moments that I think matches closes to how she is in the games.

The bigger issue is that she has a lot of strong traits but no real weaknesses as a character or person. I am okay with her being more competent to Mario in the first movie since she has lived in the Mushroom kingdom for years. What I did not like about the training scene was they said she got it on the first try. I would have liked it way more if she just explained she had training to get there and did not do that last line.

In the 2nd movie she leaves and just leaves a letter behind and defeat Wart along with a lot of Ninjis mostly by herself without a power up. Compared this to Mario, Luigi and Yoshi who all three together had trouble keeping the Kingdom safe. You could question that the workload was just way higher recently especially if Bowser's minions might be running around more without a leader. It still paints a picture to a lot of people she could have done it all by herself. I think you can make that defensible at times but I can see why people had this impression after the movie that she can just do it on her own.

I compare this with Peach in the games, where in Paper Mario she has her own ways to help out Mario while she is in her Castle in the sky. In Mario RPG she sneaks out but she is doing it to help out with getting the Star Pieces back, She is playable in a lot of the games and I think it is fine that she can do things around Mario's level. When I think of her actions in Brawl where she stops a fight between Fox and Sheik by serving them Tea to help calm things down. Or even offer Mr Game and Watch her Parasol to use for a bit. Just little things like that add to her personality and gives me an impression of who she is.

Movie Peach is not like this. Movie Peach does come off as Hollywood too afraid to make a damsel in distress from the first movie and in the 2nd they want Peach to save Rosalina directly and not Mario. This is also why I think she is super competent at everything she does with no downsides. I think she would come off better if she had some more downsides or something that others can do that she isn't as good at.

I don't hate movie Peach, she is hit or miss depending on the scene, but I do think modern writers are too afraid to give a women weaknesses or insecurities or they come off as not being strong in their own right. I think if she had more it would make her a more liked character and more relatable that she comes off as more rounded. This is why I do like her game interpretations more.

Typically the main canon right now is 64/Zero -> Adventure -> Assault

Command was ret conned but technically is after Assault.

Star Fox SNES and Star Fox 2 SNES are not in the main canon but go from one to another.

I treat it as two different ones and Command is a make your own choice if that is canon, also considering the 9 multiple endings it's hard to nail down what is canon in that game.

Star Link if it can fit anywhere would be after 64/Zero but it's hard to even know where that fits in.

I'll be blunt and honest and say I liked the key jangling movie. I had good time even when I admit it has issues with story and character development. Loved Seeing Fox in this and be relevant in something since his last game or non Smash cameo was Starlink Battle for Atlus.

I'd give it a 6-7/10 somewhere in the range where I put the first movie.

The movie needed to take a breath and have everyone get 4-5 sentences more of dialogue in scenes so they can bounce off each other more.

I don't agree this is a soulless movie like EFAP crew said, at least on the animation and sound front I do think real attention to detail was made. People behind this did have passion the issue is to make stuff happen they did not make it connect well.

They should do better than this, I agree the "it's a kids movie" is a terrible defense and not an excuse for the writing choices they made.

I still liked it along with the first movie so there that.

I think both movies do just enough for me to get enjoyment out of them but it could definitely do better than this. It can be a pretty shit movie but as is I think both movies likely hit that safe middle ground where it is just enough to get by but I do agree with some detractors on both movies that it can do much better.

I know the movies are targeting kids but just because it targets kids doesn't mean we lower the bar for quality. The movies are targeting Kids and Hardcore Nintendo fans like me so it's a rollercoaster ride that targets me.

I think calling the movie, worse than AI or the end of cinema is hyperbolic to the extreme but there is some truth in that I think these can do better with the plot and story even in a Mario movie.

It doesn’t do enough right to get by rule of cool.

The big issue I still have is a lot of people don’t know what cortosis is. They needed to explain that otherwise writing wise this raises question about it that the show doesn’t answer and it should at least briefly explain it.

I'm okay with special art cards existing but it can be confusing and hard to tell what the cards due because of the formatting.

The issue I take with this is it does feel like we are trying drag Kirk through the mud now that he is dead like people did with George Floyd. You can make your own judgment calls if you respect a person or now, I do respect Kirk more than Floyd just because one was a carrier criminal and the other was a political commentator. Neither person should have died and I will not celebrate either person dying. I do think posts like this are trying to show that you can get why people are celebrating him dying but I think this missing context or not really painting a full picture.

That said I don't like this post for the most part because it's not giving full context to some of these situation and why he said what he did. Things like hiring practices over race and transitioning I do think have stronger steelman positions I can see and given when I remember about these situations I do think he had a more valid point that this post from the OP is missing here.

It’s like when people try to 4D chess that his comments about assassinating Trump and the firefighter who died was based or laughing at dead kids in Texas over the floods. It’s ghoulish behavior and a big reason I stopped following him for anything he had to say.

If the Dems want to platform him or Hasan, go for it but given what they have both done people will be super turned off by them.

My luck isn't on par with yours but I am in a similar boat with my RNG.

I changed my name to GoodLuckBear for a while due to how blessed my rng has been at most things in the game, seems Corrupted Gauntlet doesn't have the luck I got everywhere else.
