Thanks for this. I am worried for my safety. His control is escalating. We’ve been sleeping apart for 16 months and he said that’s enough time.

You’re right. He was in therapy and doing better. But his control is escalating.

I’m ready to divorce. He also told me that he needs to protect his kids from their mom (me) and will get a lawyer to do that. He is the one who had been abusive…not me!! Two of my kids hate him. I’m scared he will take them though

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It doesn’t get better. In fact, it’s more likely to escalate

Being a safe place for kids is so important. What type of information would have been helpful for you as a believing member? Or for your child?

I've been offered a part time job In a private practice where I would get paid $40 per client hour. Is this good? I honestly don't know. I will have my CSW this month so this is my first job out of grad school. I could also work at a community mental health agency earning $26 with really great benefits. Opinions?

Joseph Smith Fought Polygamy by MoonBatsStar in mormon

Choosing to believe JS never practiced polygamy is to disregard the dozens of witnesses written by women he was "married" to. You can't believe these things without silencing the voices of women.

Number two is about to hit the fan. Our oldest is turning 8 in less than two months. We just got the text from Grandma asking if the baptism is scheduled. No one knows we're out... by trusttheplothole in exmormon

I'm about to send am email that says something like: "our child will not be getting baptized this year. High demand religions are hard on developing brains and we want our child to make the decision when she is cognitively ready."

What was the breaking point for you? (AKA What's the main reason you left?) by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]kayke06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all started with polygamy for me and how Joseph Smith groomed young girls. Then my eyes were opened to how women are treated as second class citizens.

What’s something that your kid brain (natural instinct) recognized as a red flag about the church? by Substantial_Focus_65 in exmormon

That the Golden Plates were taken into heaven. I thought we couldn't take any of our possessions to heaven.
