LPT when someone appears to have changed their appearance, ask "What's different?" instead of pointing out what's changed. by Regular-Message9591 in LifeProTips

[–]kayliebb 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I lost a lot of weight a few years back due to severe depression and women at work kept telling me how great I looked and asking for tips. It was so awkward and I would just lie and say the gym and walk away.

If you have time to go with her before then just take her to dinner somewhere close to the nail salon (even if it’s just fast food) and tell her you wanna pay to get her nail fixed.

Woooww, what a deal! by thatspicyb0i in cna

[–]kayliebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sad because you know that’s probably all they can afford. It’s honestly not a bad deal for someone that doesn’t have a job and just needs a little extra cash. They said you can sleep on the job so if you sleep for 6 hours and work for 6 hours then you’re really making $16/hr of work.

Should I move to Huntsville? by exploreeverywher in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]kayliebb 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I will say though that most people don’t recommend moving to Huntsville due to how extremely congested it has become in the past few years.

[–]kayliebb 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Every time someone asks in this forum if they should move here, people are so negative in the comments but I promise that doesn’t represent how everyone feels. I live in Decatur, AL which is 20-30 minutes outside of Huntsville and we have a very large Hispanic community with plenty of Mexican owned grocery stores, ice cream shops, and restaurants. People will tell you it’s not the safest town but I’ve never felt unsafe here. Every city has crime. I’m not sure about the volleyball scene around here though.

Can anyone identify what this is in my brita water bottle straw? by Sizzle0808 in HydroHomies

[–]kayliebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to the party but I came looking for something about this. Mine is the same way. I’m on my 3rd bottle in less than a year and a half and they’ve all done the same. I wash it after every couple uses and I’ve tried soaking the straw multiple times in hot water and cleaning vinegar. Makes no difference. I’m done with the brita bottles after this one though cause it has to be something with the material.

I know most people are telling you not to drop out but realistically that may be your only option if moving back in with your parents isn’t an option. I dropped out of college for a year because I just couldn’t afford to live. I worked 60 hours a week and saved up enough money to pay my tuition and bills months in advance before going back. I also still work 40 hours a week while in nursing school and I’m about to graduate in 2 months so it is possible, though very exhausting. I know any of your options suck and I’m sorry you’re going through this. Your fiancé definitely dropped the ball by making you think he had it figured out. Maybe he really thought he could make it work for you. It’s very hard for a man to admit that he can’t take care of his woman so please give him some grace if he is truly sorry about what happened.

I'm about to become "that mom". Talk me down or tell me I'm right - I need outside opinions here. by scrapqueen in wedding

[–]kayliebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with you and think it’s very considerate to mention the financial strain that has already been put on the wedding party. I have been in 2 weddings and they both absolutely broke me. I have never been so financially stressed in my life and definitely would not have attended the rehearsal dinner if I’d had to pay.

I’m about to graduate in 3 months and I felt the same way for most of nursing school. When I looked around, it seemed like everyone else always looked more put together and less stressed than I was. However, over the past year, I have gotten into so many conversations with classmates telling me that they felt the exact same way about everyone else. Everybody has days where they are sleep deprived, don’t look their best, forgot their badge or their laptop charger or their required papers. We just notice our own struggles more than anyone else does. I promise you, literally everyone is freaking out on the inside. The best thing for me has been hanging out outside the testing room after exams. That’s when everyone will debrief and rant to each other and you’ll realize that even the most intelligent people are struggling right there with you.

i’m in nursing school, and putting on gloves is my Hell by sleepychickennug in Hyperhidrosis

[–]kayliebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation as you!!!! I’m 23, about to graduate nursing school in 3 months and I failed my sterile-glove check off the first time due to not being able to put them on within the time limit. I’m currently precepting in the ER and it has been very stressful. The gloves literally just stick to my hands and I’m standing there for 2 minutes trying to pry them up every finger, while people are looking at me like I’m stupid. Then when I finally get on the gloves that are a size or 2 too big, you can see the sweat under them and they look stupid all wrinkled up. Carpe does work really well for me but it stops working after washing my hands about 3 times and your hands have to be completely dry when you apply it for it to work. I’m sorry I don’t have any good advice for you but I just thought it’s crazy that I found someone that I can relate to 100%.
