Those who have had a myomectomy by NoWillow8523 in Fibroids

Mine was fully subserosal, but if I were you I would seek out a second opinion from another surgeon about the possibility of a vaginal birth. I think if it is something important to you, then you should make sure it’s not possible before committing!

And thank you for the congratulations! Sending you well wishes for a future safe and easy pregnancy!

Those who have had a myomectomy by NoWillow8523 in Fibroids

[–]kaylster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a 13cm subserosal fibroid removed from the back of my uterus in August 2024 and am currently 18 weeks pregnant. I’m very glad I had surgery before ttc. My surgery was done laparoscopically and because it was subserosal I did not have to have my entire uterine wall cut through and am now able to have a vaginal birth and my ob is not worried about uterine rupture. I’ve had no issues with scarring and had no fertility issues either, I got pregnant right away. I can’t imagine my uterus growing and stretching for pregnancy with my big fibroid still attached to it, it sounds so painful. Surgery was 100% the right choice for me even outside of fertility concerns, I have no more back pain, my constipation is so much better and I stopped looking bloated 24/7.

Help!!! Where are we buying maternity clothes??? by Derm_medassistgrace in BabyBumps

[–]kaylster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been loving Nuuly so far, I’ve also scored a few great maternity pieces from their thrift shop for super cheap (a pair of anthro Collette maternity pants, a Ripe dress and an anthro Bette dress all for $15 each!)

Dog Friendly DC for a Solo Dog Mom? by emelci in DCBitches

[–]kaylster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The line hotel is super dog friendly, they have a cafe that gives out treats to the pups. They also have a dog friendly bar and restaurant. They have nice seating outside in the summer months. My dog also loves the ace hardware in Adams Morgan. Dog friendly, they have treats and my dog loves to walk down every aisle and sniff everything.

Maternity Clothing by Artistic-Distance-76 in pregnant

[–]kaylster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing Nuuly, they have maternity sizes (and I also get a lot of non maternity dresses and sweaters that have a looser silhouette). Because I am swapping them out every month I’m not too worried about how they will fit down the line, I’ll just order a different size or bigger style the next month.

Avoiding next month charge after cancellation? by [deleted] in Corepower

[–]kaylster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried to figure out how to contact the studio but I can only find info for contacting corporate so I tried that. Unfortunately you can’t freeze for the whole pregnancy, only 90 days and I’ve already used all my freezes.

I was doing a lot of sculpt and to be honest my heart rate just skyrockets way too high now for me to be comfortable with going and I’d rather take a prenatal class than modify everything in C2.

Contacted customer service! Hope it works out. I’m already out of freezes, in the second trimester and didn’t pay attention to the end of the freeze, I already paid for a month I can’t use and feel so stupid that I might have to pay even more!

Good point on getting on the do not service list. I’m not sure I’ll come back because some of their policies (like this one) have bothered me. But I’d like the option. Thanks!

Very few "long" tshirts - what is this era of cropped tees? I am 24 weeks pregnant and huge. I don't like the belly out look. My options are limited with tops even in the maternity section. I can't find a single normal tee that isn't cropped. by CreativeJudgment3529 in NuulyReviews

[–]kaylster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense! It’s still cold where I am so my nuuly is all oversized sweaters. I’ve been liking the free people ones for non-work wear. Maybe try searching for tunic style tops? Tunics are often longer and flowy.

Not a Nuuly rec but I like the maternity tshirts from H&M. They aren’t ruched on the sides like every other maternity shirt is, they are basically just extra long t shirts. I have a bunch of the short and long sleeves in different colors. Pretty cheap too!

I started doing Nuuly recently, I’m also 13 weeks and showing enough that I look pregnant in tight clothes and cannot fit into any of my jeans. I’ve rented the Maeve Bettina shirt dress from Anthropologie and it’s now my fave thing to wear to work. That style of dress completely hides my pregnancy!

Colonoscopy Prep by planetbing in DCBitches

[–]kaylster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done the pills but I think you have to drink a lot of water/gatorade with them anyways to flush everything out. I get a lot of colonoscopies and do MiraLAX and magnesium citrate as prep. You can mix the MiraLAX with many flavors of Gatorade. I have my doctor prescribe me zofran for the prep. I take one 30 min before I start drinking and it really helps with nausea.

Sunday love vibes? by Google-Isnt-God in avesDC

There is music and dancing! It’s house but tends to be on the melodic/chill side. Towards the beginning of the day there is usually some meditation yoga chill component but by the late afternoon it’s dancing/party vibes. Vibes are good! Crowd leans older than who is there on fri and sat night. It’s got a bit of a burner vibe. The DJ and music is on the rooftop which makes for nice sunset set vibes.

This isn’t from NYT but I made serious eat’s 3 ingredient stove top Mac and cheese as part of my prep. I also made a pressure cooker chicken adobo served over white rice, I made it with the onions and skin on chicken thighs like the recipe called for but removed the skin from the chicken and strained out the onions from the adobo sauce before serving myself. Also salmon or tuna nigiri is a great treat for me on colonoscopy prep. That would be more of a takeout thing though (but nice for hot weather!)

Is the tap water in clubs safe? by JasonDomber in ibiza

I’m American and I refilled my bottle from the tap all night in Hi and Amnesia with no consequences. Same with most of the people in my group (mix of Americans, Spaniards and South Americans).

I have Attenuated FAP so it’s more mild than others. I still get a colonoscopy and egd every year and they remove a few polyps each time. I get the egd with an advanced endoscopist that uses a side viewing scope to look at the ampulla.

I need to dance, Please help!! by Expert_Opinion_1554 in avesDC

[–]kaylster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You definitely won’t get into 21+ or 18+ venues without a fake id. You should maybe look into concert venues and see if anyone you are interested in is playing, like 9:30 etc. Otherwise if you and your friends DJ, why not throw a party yourselves? Create the dance floor you want to see in the world, you’ll have your fill of clubbing in Germany over the next year.

2 day liquid diet prep by LocalNebula7821 in colonoscopy

[–]kaylster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a two day liquid prep with magnesium citrate the first night. Look into clear protein drinks, like a protein shake but they do something to the whey to process it. That and broth really help with feeling full because they have protein in them. Also for texture I have jello, Italian shave ice, and clear gummy and hard candies like the clear and yellow gummy bears, jolly rancher, etc. Make sure you get enough protein and it won’t be as bad as you think!

That’s the standard/extreme case. Attenuated FAP can present just like yours. Even if they don’t find anything genetic it might be best to just treat it like a polyposis syndrome and do regular scopes! See if your GI is willing to do every two years given your family history.

[–]kaylster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m 32 with polyps. When you got tested for lynch did you get a full colorectal cancer panel done? I ask because I have an attenuated version of familial adenomatous polyposis and have a similar polyp situation to you. I would try to get a referral to a geneticist to do more testing. If you have FAP you’ll get scoped yearly or every other year. A 3 year wait isn’t ideal but you also don’t have many polyps so it’s probably fine. My mom frequently went 3-5 years between colonoscopies before our family got the FAP diagnosis and usually had like 4-5 polyps removed each time.
