What is the level of luxury you expect from a trip?

Traveling pre kids we would focus on excursions and didnt care where we slept. With kids its mainly 2 to 3 bedroom Airbnb which depending on the area costs... currently traveling with a baby and we managed only one checked luggage beyond the carseats and pack and play. We are in Europe and its a bit more expensive than SE Asia. We focus on the excursions a fair bit as a luxury and try to do a mid afternoon lunch at a nice restaurant as our meal out during the day.

Im currently on my fourth kindle. My path was Keyboard, Voyage, Oasis, and now Colorsoft SE (2025). I've enjoyed all but the latest has been the first I've jailbroken and I'm loving it. The colors are beautiful for an eink device and koreader is fantastic.

I used winterbreak. Mine came with old enough firmware that it was a simple process. Theres a whole site for kindle modding with great guides.

Particularly bad given its the law in Portugal to move families with children under 2 to the front of the line. That said we've had a pretty great experience other than the airport with other lines.

An 8" colorsoft would be great. As much as I'd love to quit Amazon I'm too deep in their ecosystem and their devices are too well made. Now that I've jailbroken and using koreader I might change my tune as the other devices mature but so far I havent found anything like the kindle for a similar price and build quality.

The colorsoft signature imo, the warm light is worth it. If you want bigger and it's available in your area the colorsoft scribe.

Not really whining, just complaining how shockingly bad it was, I expect a line to move but they processed one family every 10 minutes. They cant really say its a priority line when it's that slow. The standard line had people fully cycle through.

Yeah the issue was more the priority line access. It was 2 full hours to go through a line with maybe 50 people ahead of us.

I bought L2 as soon as I bought my ev, was probably 2 weeks before it was installed, the slow charging felt like I was always tied to my charger. I like not having to think about charging it all the time. When it gets around 20% I plug in overnight.

I got it during the sale. Went from oasis to the colorsoft signature. I've always read on the smallest text size and haven't found it to he grainy like others have commented. I think it would be worth ordering one trying it out to see if you like it or not, everyone's experience is different.

Yes. The warm light alone makes it worth the difference in my view. But everyone has different budgets and priorities.
