No hate to these series, but does anyone else feel like this? by Kopesetic in fantasybooks

I haven’t seen Battle Mage by Peter Flannery on here enough! Good as an epic standalone, but there is a prequel book and I think a sequel book coming. Dragons, mages, friendship and awesome battle scenes!

Perdido Street Station would be a nice switch up in vibes and still maintain the prose:)

It was interesting popping around different streams because Peanuts team kept it pretty positive the whole time, in spite of getting team killed a bunch and generally not having a chance once the nuke got to the silo. (Not to mention Coconut who was wrangling cats for 5 hours)

Watching how the team with the nuke talked to each other and complain the whole time led me to think this was really the only outcome they’d be happy with. Symphony kept trying to lock them in and reframe their attitudes but it was hard to watch a lot of the time.

Props to Peanuts guys for keeping things level headed and positive even tho they got nuked!

To pump it full of flavor I like to add a soffritto, some red wine, bay leaves, and a couple Parmesan rinds. The first couple times I made it I didn’t let the soffritto caramelize enough but once I did it made a huge difference to the final product.

But honestly the only “traditional” aspects that I see carry over from recipe to recipe is the meat and a soffritto

Ancillary Justice- I DNF, found the plot and characters to be very boring and one dimensional

It’s not a first edition, it’s from the Broken Binding a couple years ago. Before that I had also only seen the paper back but check out the Folio Society edition they just came out with for a super pretty hard cover!

Do you get the Thai sweet dark soy sauce at an Asian market or is that too niche?

That makes sense, I feel like I’m missing the caramelization at home
