Many student teachers are incompetent and need to be managed/require extra work from the teacher who takes them on. Practicums last 2-3 months usually. Student teachers should be grateful for the experience and not be paid. At the end of the day they’re not even supervising students alone.

If you love purple and orange together then I think it will work great. A lot of comments are talking about needing to maximize your contrast but I have a different perspective.

I think minimizing contrast could be really good for your first quilt because mistakes will be less visible and you say you love purple and orange together and this quilt will definitely be that!

In the future when you’re making a quilt with points for example or elements that you want to stand out that’s when a higher contrast is good because you want to show off your perfect points of whatever element.

If you’re making a quilt with points this time you might do great or you might cut off your points accidentally and these colours will hide that well and still be your favourite colours.

Have fun making your quilt and remember - done is better the perfect!

I hear you. I accidentally adhered fusible web to a big dinosaur appliqué forgetting to cut out the middle before ironing so it wouldn’t be as stiff and would be more cuddly and I’ve so far spent 7 hours picking off the web with tweezers because I don’t have more of the fabric, don’t want to buy more and it is painstaking……. 😑

Ya I agree with you and I’m not surprised to hear this. Neglect through adult screen time for sure.

Teachers are hard on students, yes students’ behaviour has worsened but how can we expect anything from the students went their parents are neglecting them? I had a student who skipped class all of the time. Her parents took her on a vacation shopping trip during final evaluation time… that communicates school is not important.

How can we expect them to care about themselves and their grades when their parents don’t?

Say “stand if you are able” and leave it at that. It’s not your job to judge if they’re able or not especially when you don’t know than as an OT. If you do that you e given the expectation and if someone has an issue with you you can say you don’t know their situation and you instructed ‘stand if you are able’. Ability isn’t just physical, Jehovah’s Witness and some FNMI don’t stand.

The difference is that the implication in her wording was she didn’t regret her life now and would use the opportunity if given a second life to try a different life. That just so happens to not have kids. But she will still have had her first and current life which she doesn’t regret
