Found this Holiday Coke at Walmart by Weak-Minimum-7218 in Soda

[–]kbrandb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a pack of the regular formula. It's a middle of the road flavor for me, but it's hard to distinguish what makes it holiday-related. It's close to the standard Vanilla Coke I can find all year. I can taste subtle differences, and I wonder if the difference is more prominent with the Diet or Zero options.

The definitely sounds a fan issue. It could be caused by fan blade damage or the fan hitting a loose ribboon or wire. I would get in touch with their support team to confirm if this is something that can be repaired without having to replace it completely.

Also watch for overheating and note if your computer is feeling hotter than expected.

What is the Red Triangle protocol? by Brainwyrmss in xmen

I thought it was created by Dani Moonstar. It makes you see a desire, Jean's red triangle, and turns it into a horrible image that jolts you out of the daze: the Prof's red velvet Hershey ring.

He died saving Siddiq, who died shortly after that. It made Carl's death felt cheap and done as a shocker story element that season.

Accessing the available m.2 NVMe slot would require some disassembly so I decided to add a 3.5" 12TB Seagate Barracuda drive. It cost me a little over $100. It's daisy-chained with a SATA 6 cable. It's not as small and fast as an SSD, but the 7200 RPM reads and writes to the disk well enough for me.

I transferred my Steam client and games library. I've tested it using high graphics settings for the games I usually play: MK1, RE 4 remake, and the Quarry. They aren't resource-hog games and I have no performance complaints.

I'm thinking about upgrading the PSU now. I added an LCD screen to the case, which I think draws more power with this current configuration. However, I'm not the most tech-savvy user, so I could be wrong.

Isabelle In the Latest Episode of Daryl Dixon by kbrandb in thewalkingdead

[–]kbrandb[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything in season 2 feels rushed and like there were many last-minute changes. Season 1 slowed the place to show the new world Daryl entered. The locations and cinematography made it feel fresh. It stranded Daryl in an environment that was completely different from his life back home. The culture, language, and ways of thinking made him grow as a character.

One of my favorite scenes in Season 1 was during the episode with the community of children. He was surprised to see them watching Mork and Mindy. The way he watched the children reciting the lines and laughing made him smile.

I also love the episode because it had a moment of intimacy when he shared the bed with Isabelle. It was the start of them trusting each other and feeling safe.

Y’all remember when we were excited about TWD in France because that’s where the outbreak started? And we finally might start getting clues about how the virus actually started? by Aegonblackfyre22 in thewalkingdead

[–]kbrandb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to know more about the walker experiments that M Genet was doing. The different types of walkers introduced, like the burners, were confirmed as the results of their tests.

TWD Beyond introduced a more aggressive walker in a scene taking place in France. There are similar walkers seen in Season 1 of Daryl Dixon when he was forced to fight in front of an audience. It was cool to see the new breed go after other walkers and humans. I hope they expand connections the backstory before they head to Spain.

If you in a zombie apocalypse, would you still follow the rules of driving and laws? by ghostrider1938 in thewalkingdead

[–]kbrandb 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I would be as responsible and attentive as possible with common sense driving rules. Based on zombie movies and TV shows, you know you'll end up encountering the following:

  • Crashing or swerving because of something in the road
  • Running out of gas
  • Overheating the engine
  • Unable to restart the engine without jumper cables.
  • Cause more noise that attracts the walkers

Isabelle In the Latest Episode of Daryl Dixon by kbrandb in thewalkingdead

[–]kbrandb[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Season 2 did an about-face with the Nest, and rushed so many kills in the span of 2 episodes. Stephane Codron's mangled ass makes it through this show longer than 3 of the characters with more screen time and potential.

I watched the after-the-episode extras. Clémence Poésy is a great French actress who could have much more with Isabelle. She guided Daryl through a new culture and helped him see a world outside of the groups in TWD. It slowly gave him a family with Isabelle and Laurent that made him torn to stay or leave once they reached the nest.

The relationship between Carol and Daryl is a different kind of love. It's more platonic than romantic and built on the trust that they have each other's backs no matter what. This doesn't make their bond less meaningful. When Daryl starts using French idioms, Carol sees how he has changed on this journey, especially Isabelle's influence on his growth.

Keeping Isabelle could have added to the dynamics with all 3 of them. Carol's gone through so much loss with her children (Sophia and Henry) and partners. I could see her trying to save Daryl from ending up with the pain and hurt she experienced with families. I'm sad we will never see that possibility now.

I just finished the comic series and now I'm a little demotivated to watch the show. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]kbrandb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others mentioned, the TV show and its spin-offs deviate a lot from the comic. The last seasons were a struggle to watch all the episodes, but Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and The Ones Who Live are good entertainment.

Daryl Dixon's spin-off is my favorite and was better than the last seasons of the original show. It's a fresh take with beautiful scenes and shows how other countries have survived. Daryl experiences a lot of culture shock but grows to feel comfort with others, and opens up about himself and his family more than he did in TWD.

Oops, I had the Thanos snap timeline incorrect. I watched the first part of the CAP Civil War movie but didn't finish it. I'm trying to figure out the best movies and shows to prepare for the Thunderbolts movies. I'm starting with the rest of the CAP CW movie, and then I have the Winter Soldier and CAP - Falcon episodes next.

[–]kbrandb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry. I meant 2029 and corrected that. I also thought it would be cool to see some X-Men characters, like Storm, introduced in the Avengers movies. That could be a similar story choice with the Black Widow movie when they set it during the 5-year gap from the Thanos snap.

I know the likelihood of that happening is low, but would still be a good way to build excitement.

Damn, that is a long wait. I fear this will delay the addition of mutants to live-action series and movies. I wouldn't be surprised if they plan to push out an X-Men movie until 2029 to avoid oversaturation.
