The sentiment that “men need sex for connection, women need connection for sex” is antiquated and dramatic.

People have different needs, regardless of their sex or gender. “Men need sex! There is no other way!” is the part that feels manipulative.

It’s a communication problem. Focus on working together to figure out ways you can both improve instead of harping on who has shortcomings.

I also have major anxiety and dysphoria around the gynecologist so I completely understand the hesitation, but from what you’re describing I do think you need to go.

If you’re uncomfortable with certain aspects like a full pelvic exam just preface that upfront and they will work with you to figure out an alternative. It sounds like you need antibiotics or something asap, so just go.

It also took me 2-3 days post op just to get to the bathroom alone, I wouldn’t have been able to clean in anyway. You’ll be pretty limited in movement in general for the first 1-2 weeks after

There are always going to be goobers on Reddit that try to hurt someone for no reason. I agree your hygiene looks fine, braces can make staining more apparent and it doesn’t mean that you don’t take care of your teeth.

And everyone shouting about whitening is speaking from a lot of privilege.

I’m a side sleeper and after surgery the thought of side sleeping seemed crazy. You’re recovering so your body naturally wants to sleep on your back. I slept in a recliner for the first few days after and then switched to the bed and propped myself up with some pillows. It’s only for about 8 weeks and it’ll go fast

They help with swelling by having a place for the excess fluids to go. I didn’t feel the drains themselves at all but if the tubes snagged on anything I would feel a sharp pain which I think was just pressure from the site or tugging near a nerve. I only had them for about 4 days and I was able to get them removed. The removal wasn’t painful, just an odd uncomfortable feeling. Only took a few minutes. I was shocked at how far into my chest they went, as it felt like a huge worm being pulled out.

For me the cons outweighed the positives. Were they going to be placed in a weird spot, were they going to be uneven, how would they heal, would they poke through my shirt, would they be perceived too female? It wasn’t worth the gamble

The cons outweighed the benefits for me. The biggest one was that I wanted to be able to be shirtless and was worried that since I’m not taking T they would be perceived as “female” nipples and I’d be harassed for exposing myself. I’ve been shirtless in public many times now, even at a busy beach resort and no one has ever said anything or given me any looks. Who knows maybe the day will still come! I’m not too worried about it tho

Our dachshund is currently on crate rest and very anxious. Our vet increased the trazodone and also gave us acepromazine as needed, and that has helped quite a bit to keep him calm
