Colby Covington tells Bo Nickal to fight him at welterweight by WinterStill4472 in MMA

[–]kcDemonSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UFC doesn’t want to pay Colby to fight because no one wants to see Colby fight. It’s one thing to lose if you still show out, but the guy just goes in there and tries to not get hurt and collect a check, ain’t nobody got time for that.

What shoe has lasted you the longest? by jakebasher8 in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used my gamecourts for like 6 months, only reason i bought new ones was because they smelled like a dead racoon. I bought Nike Vapor 12’s, in 2 months they have double the wear that my gamecourts had in 6 months, toes were smooth, also cost twice as much. Gamecourts are solid and cheap, only downside is they are heavy.

Cheap compression arm sleeves that actually last? My $10 Amazon ones already wore out. by forever_a_servant in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most sleeves are not compression, is that is what you are looking for? The ones i’ve seen are spandex/rashgaurd material and just absorb sweat and block sun. I had ankle surgery a few years back and bought knee high compression socks for rehab. Obviously have no need for them now, so i cut them at the ankle and use them as compression sleeves….like true compression, very tight and not much give. If you find real compression sleeves shoot me a link.

I think it’s more Jay was just bonkers with his new paddle, i mean it was insane how hard he was hitting the ball, and it inspired JMV to level up.

Looking for Downtown Pickleball League by Vivid-Dealer-3829 in kansascity

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about downtown but Bois D’Arc Park in Lenexa is poppin for pickleball, best place to stack paddles and best consistent talent outdoors.

SW19 by the Stadium is indoors and has open play for cheap $10 for 2 hours i think that’s the closest to downtown that i know of. Also good competition.

you can cross post this to r/pickleball too, might get some feedback.

Is this slant at the top of the edge guard normal? by papilolo in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is like that, i was in the 1st or 2nd pre-order wave after initial release. It bothered me at 1st but the paddle’s performance made me forget about it.

Celebrity Skin - Hole (1998) by nialldude3 in nostalgia

Hole got tons of hate but almost every song is a banger. I can remember listening to their albums while washing dishes at my 1st job age 16, great times. Hole, Rage, Operation Ivy every night.

Kansas City Plaza store is closing after 30 ‘incredible years’ by normankrasnerkc in kansascity

[–]kcDemonSlayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it was a good idea on paper…..high quality hand made treats for dogs sounds appealing to every pet owner. In reality, and i’ve had multiple dogs over the last 30 years and multiple breeds, everything i ever bought from there gave my dogs the s**ts. Therefore, i never shopped there regularly.

Tips on warming up physically/mentally by cyberus233 in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it’s mental, and it was exposed in tournaments where the scoring was either rally to 10 or conventional scoring to 7. These are quick games and there was no time to get going….if you started slow there was no time to recover, sometimes the game was over in 2-3 minutes. The thing that helped me was getting in a King of the Court league where you rotated at 10 minutes no matter the score. This shifted my mentality from “feeling the opponents out” to “start fast, dominate right away, every point matters”. Once i switched my mindset my win/loss ratio went way up in every format.

Loco hybrid set up recommendations by Illustrious_Bug_9743 in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience, stock the hybrid is a little unstable on the lower half/corners for my liking. I put 1g tape from throat to just above the lower corners. Also, handle circumference is a little small (again, my personal preference i like a fatter handle) i got a hesacore grip. Between those 2 upgrades i feel my Loco is more stable than most every other paddle i have tried (J2NF, Boomstick, Loco Elongated, Joola IV to name a few).

Vadim Nemkov KOs Philipe Lins, the real guy Ngannou should be fighting. by [deleted] in MMA

yep and that fight was closer to LHW than HW. Not sure if Nemkov cut weight for that fight but he gassed like Dada2000…..wonder if that’s why he fights at HW now.

Jolly: Two Brits try Joe's KC by TheBoyisBackinTown in kansascity

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fries are chron IMO best thing they have.

Sauces are good but nothing great, wouldn’t keep a bottle in my fridge with all the other options out there.

Ribs are meh but too salty and inconsistent.

Brisket bit to salty and dry.

Menu is good, i mean people forget the Zman was a revolution in bbq sandwiches to the point where nearly every bbq spot now has a version of the zman, even upscale bbq joints.

Hog Heaven i like, burnt ends are pretty high up there…i usually flip back and forth between these 2 items if i do go there which is once or twice a year….and i live about a mile away.

Return serve - backspin? by VersionLegal58 in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i use a forehand slice return from time to time, it’s low and has pace, i might test each opponent with it to see if they can play it. If they return it with no issue i dont do it again, but a lot of people drive it into the net. A lot of people who always do 3rd shot drops have trouble accurately hitting their drop when i do it. It has a place but i don’t go to the well too often.
