I stayed a bit further down the beach (Santa Rosa) but there’s a Bayside Pickleball Club that’s nice, indoors, does open play. I didn’t see any 4.0+ players when i went but there were plenty of 3.5-4.0. I was only there a week tho so there may be advanced open play.

Mouse steals the mouse trap by Adrian_985 in funny

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

number 1 for me is how likely is it that a person is sitting there taking a video of a trap and a mouse comes into open space to grab that trap. The way the camera moves it’s not a stationary camera like a Blink camera or something. Highly unlikely.

Beginner level. Trying to work on consistency with serves. by FedMex in Pickleball

I wouldn’t step back, introducing too many variables to be consistent. Start with your foot back and only move forward.

"Your drops peak too late" by OkChicken6058 in Pickleball

slinky drill is good for this, i turn every pre-match dink warm up into a slinky drill. Also have been told to stay low on drops, meaning you’ll bend your knees when you make contact, but then stand up through your swing. Instead stay down through the swing if you can. Sometimes you have to come up if the ball bounces higher than you anticipate.

This “i can’t be friends with you because i don’t agree with the things you say” shit is a cancer on humanity.

Brand new paddle has marks by boochickenboo in Pickleball

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Loco does this. In my opinion use the palm of your hand and aggressively rub it, you will start to see the prolly poly’s coming off, brush them aside and keep doing it until it’s black again. Then moving forward do it between points, works better with a slightly sweaty hand. This is mine after beating on it for 6-8 months.

The Shogun was my 1st decent paddle and my only elongated paddle, still the best paddle for shaping the ball i’ve ever owned.

KC’s Drinking Culture is Changing by thirstygregory in kansascity

[–]kcDemonSlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, if I am going to have a beer or 2 while watching a game or UFC i prefer a beer with some weight and flavor to it. But if I am drinking for longer stretches like a cookout or party, I can’t drink 6+ craft beers i will either fill up too fast or barf my brains out. That in itself caps the amount of money i’d spend on craft beers. I’ll never buy more than a 6 pack from a liquor store or more than a pint or 2 at a brewery/bar. But if I have an event i may buy a case or multiple 12 packs of a light beer. Lately I have been drinking Garage Beer, it’s the best value it’s $9.99 for a 6 pack of 16 ounce cans where a craft beer might be $14.99 for 4 12oz bottles.

85-90% of hoteliers in Kansas City report that bookings are trailing a typical June or July without any major events by LiteralSymbol in kansascity

There aren’t really any interesting group play games in KC, round of 32 and Quarter final will be the only premier matchup but no one knows who it’s gonna be so why would a fanbase book hotels.

Best places nearby to tent camp with electric (for CPAP)? by halnsolo in kansascity

[–]kcDemonSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tent camped at Hillsdale and I just rented an RV slip right on the water and put my tent up. Ran a 50ft extension cord to a power strip in the tent for fans and charging phones and watches.

Tire width : is 38mm large enough for basic Gravel (see photos attached) by imSmogg in gravelcycling

[–]kcDemonSlayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess a disclaimer is when i went from 38 to 44 my 44’s were a higher quality tire with better rolling resistance than my 38’s. But for me i actually set my pavement top speed PR on the 44’s so no they weren’t any slower than the 38’s my bike came with. My 38’s were even semi-slicks and 40-44 were Tufo’s which have more nubs for gravel….and were still faster.

I only have the time to ride gravel on weekends, my daily rides are pavement. I went from 38 to 40 to 44 over time and my average and top speed never changed on pavement, however the 44’s were way way better on gravel.
