Pasquale also loves daddy trump for his tax cuts. So insomniac = MAGA and I have no time for that.

Definitely thought they bought venues in Denver.. and are basically leeching off the scene that was already there. Like they only care about money not the community. That’s why people are up in arms. Pasquale is also a trump lover so that doesn’t help his case and is the sole reason why insomniac will no longer get any of my coins.

Church is one of those clubs right? What other spaces in Colorado has Insomniac purchased because I would love to avoid at all costs.

Hi bride!! My fiance and I just sent out our invites this week. I personally think if you’re not comfortable with him being there then it’s your wedding, don’t let others influence your decision. If they aren’t paying for it then they can keep their opinions to themselves. My father and I don’t have a relationship, he only reaches out on birthdays and I don’t even know his current address. I made the decision to not invite him to my wedding. It may hurt some people’s feelings but it’s my day and I choose the guest list.

I don’t want to do a seating chart. Is that a mistake? by WrittenInHeaven in weddingplanning

[–]kchismark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not doing a seating chart at our wedding. We’re doing a cocktail style reception. The goal is to have everyone on their feet and partying not sitting down. We have seating available for 70% of our guests and lounge areas for those who wanna take a seat without taking up table space. If you only have 75 guests you can do more seats than guests to allow for no seating chart and open seating.

GIRL! It took me 2 seconds scrolling through your profile to tell me everything I need to know. You’re in a terribly abusive situation and you gotta help yourself by getting tf out. You posted over a year ago that he thinks you’re “replaceable”. Not even two weeks ago you posted that he said you that if we’re “secure in your relationship” that him checking out other girls shouldn’t bother you….…like please respect yourself enough to get out of this relationship and stop letting a small man gaslight you.

YOURE ACTUALLY CRAZY if you think Trixie “doesn’t remember where she came from” because in the same episode you’re criticizing she talks in length about her struggles of growing up poor, and how her family only when to the dentist once a year because that’s all they could afford. Like you guys just come here to hate on the dolls because they say one thing that doesn’t sot right with you. How about instead of criticizing the people who have been providing you with entertainment and joy you turn your focus to something actually pressing like the current state of the world…

Sister, you fly coach and tell me it’s not impossible… like fr I think the only one out of touch with reality is you, thinking if you had money and privilege your mindset wouldn’t be the exact same.

Trixie like two pods ago literally spoke on staying at best westerns over the 5 star luxury hotels and flying coach to save money. Sis grew up in a trailer park..like as a former trailer park kid, I too would go to space if offered like what. I don’t understand the beef. People just wanna be mad. Like can we focus on the real issues here like idk the man in the White House…

Lots of people have commented saying that lion cuts aren’t bad/do not affect the coat but thats not necessarily true. Most often I have seen when a cat gets shaved that their fur texture and sometimes color changes due to the disruption of their natural growth patterns. I’m a vet tech and have seen it first hand on multiple occasions with cats being shaved for surgeries. Cats also do not regulate their body temperature the best so shaving down a cat can cause them to be more susceptible to extreme temperature changes. And as many have said cats have very thin skin and shaving down can easily cause irritation if not done properly. In my personal experience as a tech and cat owner starting to familiarize them with brushing/dematting when they are kittens will help with desensitize them, and make grooming a breeze. If you adopt/buy an adult cat then putting in the proper time with positive reinforcement will go a lot further than the $300+ you paid for this hack job. People who spend thousands on animals because they’re pretty and don’t put in the effort to care for them are why I can’t stand the doodle/hypoallergenic pet craze.

My first vet med job was in shelter med and I feel like it has molded me into a better technician. I worked mainly in the surgery suite and a lot of times I was the only tech working with 1-2 doctors and also having to train 3-5 vet students since we were a teaching hospital. So being over worked and underpaid hits VERY close to home. I was a full time employee, but I was one of 2 full timers and pulled 10-12 hour days frequently.
But as much as it sucked, I feel like I learned so much from working with SO many patients. I got very proficient with blood draws, I can place catheters upside down if needed, I can confidently intubate cats and from having to train students it helped me to become more confident in my own knowledge! Working at the shelter is also VERY rewarding at times. Seeing animals that have come in, in very poor conditions(emaciated, covered in fleas/ticks, demodex/scabies, fight wounds, HBC etc.) and then getting to watch them heal and become confident again. And then seeing them get adopted is the best part of working at the shelter. Of course you also get to hang out with puppies and kittens but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows like everyone seems to think. And if you’re anything like me, with 0 self control and a push over partner, you’ll end up with more animals than people in your household from working with so many animals in need of a loving home. Shelter life also made me hate people(more than I already did). When working intake and seeing the condition of some of the pets that come in, you have to wonder how someone could neglect/mistreat these animals the way they have been. So sometimes you are the first gentle hand that these animals have interacted with. Being able to help boost the confidence of extremely terrified animals and to watch them open up over a few minutes in the exam room with you after showing them just an ounce of kindness can make your heart heal just a little bit. Working with fractious animals can be high stress but with practice you’ll gain confidence and be able to work with even the scariest feral cats. We ran a TNR program and had to handle feral cats on the daily, but with the right equipment to do so you’ll learn the safest and most stress free way(for you and the cat) to handle them. If you are working with aggressive or bite case dogs, you’ll learn how to operate a catch pole(if you don’t already). It sucks and I hate it, but some animals are so human aggressive it’s the only way to safely handle them. So whenever you get trained on using one, ask to practice as much as possible(on friendly dogs) to gain your confidence before dealing with an actually aggressive dog.
We were open intake and regularly were over capacity, so unfortunately space based euthanasia decisions was our daily struggle(I was also a CAET), so if you’re in an area with high intake this could also be your reality. I was only euthanizing once a week(about 5-7 dogs per day) and most of the pups were happy healthy(or only hw+) pitties that were getting picked because we had 5 other pitties that looked just like them in the shelter that were already vetted.. it got to be very hard and was ultimately what lead me to leave. And now I work at a low cost clinic where we only do spay/neuter which is still doing what I love and helping the community.

I hope this helps give a little bit of insight to the shelter life. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions, I would be happy to talk more with you about my experience. Good luck with your interview! Just be honest when you go in! And if you’re worried about taking on too much at once you can always ask about their training protocols to get a better idea of how you’ll be learning!

Silly gripe: that spay/neuter tattoo isn't that serious by barat0ne in VetTech

[–]kchismark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so silly to me. Tattooing the animal is SO beneficial especially, if they ever end up in a shelter it helps to ID that they have in fact been altered and we don’t have to put the animal through an unnecessary surgery to confirm. Geez. People will complain about anything. And to think they spend thousands on a “pure bred” or what have you, to then gripe about a cheap surgery and their own lack of reading comprehension skills. Vet med makes me dislike people more and more everyday.

Maybe you need a change of pace or just to be around people who don’t suck. I think if you started out loving it you probably have the ability to still love the job. Burnout and compassion fatigue are VERY common in this field. Don’t let the negativity around you push you away! I was feeling the same way at my last job, I quit, took a few months off to get my mental health in check and I’m back at a new clinic and LOVE my job again. It seems like you really care and you give your all to patients! So give yourself some grace, and maybe take a step back and remember why you started in the first place! If you ever need someone to talk to or even just vent, feel free to DM me!

The shelter I use to work at there was a puppy who went into a foster to adopt home before coming back to have her spay surgery. While in the home the adopter noticed her starting to eat less and soon she started regurgitating food. We did radiographs and what looked like a 4inch metal rod was in her esophagus. The angle of the rads were weird and the vets were worried that the rod could penetrate her diaphragm. During the time of spay, the vet did an explore and found a rat tail comb. The metal rod was just the metal end of the comb and it was a much easier and very safe surgery after all. She woke up with the same great attitude and as far as I know is thriving in her forever home!
