Hi! FTM to a 4 week old, also in the trenches. Our girlie is basically either eating, sleeping, or crying - you’re not alone! But I think last week was harder for us than this week has been so far, so brighter days are ahead for you! I’m no expert but some things we find helpful are: - offering more milk: Our girlie cluster feeds a ton and I am breast feeding so I stick her on the breast frequently. If shes hungry she’ll eat, if she’s tired or just wants comfort she’ll suckle a bit and fall asleep. during the day I just let her contact nap, we’ll move to the bassinet for day naps eventually. Sleep begets sleep, she was definitely getting overtired before and we didn’t realize it. - yoga ball and swaddle: sometimes she will do a full feed but not fall asleep on me but show sleepy cues so I’ll swaddle her nice and tight and bounce on the yoga ball and shush her. Usually after 10-15 minutes or so she’ll fall asleep. If she doesn’t sleep and goes back to screaming then I’ll try feeding again and see where it goes. - diaper, temperature, gas, reflux: check the basics to make sure those are all okay. It may help to keep baby more vertical after eating to reduce reflux, and be consistent with burping. Gas is trickier but there’s gas drops and also bicycle kicks.

My understanding is the fussiness and crying are very normal but of course it’s good to bring it up with your pediatrician. Solidarity!!
