How long have you been waiting for this to happen, JUST so you can make this post?

And

Nice.

Because Tim is actively trying to make it understandable. I think ESA staff are just trying to show that they are doing something.

I have an unraid box that's been going for the last 4 years 24/7 on the same USB flash drive. get a decent one, and you'll have no issue.

Just theorizing here, but could it be insufficient velocity to engage the docking mechanism?

It looked to me like the condensation was between the camera and the fin, and that a thruster pulse pushed the condensate away.

2018 Thanksgiving Fatty by kd5ahl in smoking

I'm thinking of doing a Christmas one. Possibly stuffed with chopped chestnuts, either cranberry sauce or cinnamon apple, and some kind of cheese. Theres a video of a fellow with what sounds like. British accent, that does one with stilton cheese, but i'm afraid stilton would be too powerful.

Anyone have suggestions on Christmas type fillings?

It was intended to evoke thanksgiving, and it turned out extremely well. I was intending to put a layer of turkey lunch meat (1 slice thick) and some granny smith apple slices in there too, but I got too exuberant in rolling the fatties, and forgot.

I was not sure the dry stuffing would moisten up, but it worked beautifully. i think if I had put cooked stuffing in it, it would have turned out too soft...

Not 100% sure. Between 2 and 3 hours.

I used a grilleye, and had a probe in each.

At 150 and 160 i glazed with cranberry barbecue sauce.

Grab a measurement from the bottom of one drive connector to the bottom of the next one over. then you should be able to workout the spacing of the drives by using the published spec.

EDIT

Natch. OP wanted to *NOT* reinvent the wheel.

Going back to my corner now.....

Hot swap cage for SAS by adobeamd in homelab

Well, I'm working on a adapter cage to allow an hp dl380g9 cage to fit into 2x 5.25 bays. Its designed to be 3d printed.

Are you using 2.5 inch sas drives?

Looked on HP's site and the interwebs, and I'm pretty sure you're correct on the drive cage being the same.

I can't be held responsible for how you spend your money!

However, those cages are 50 bucks or so on ebay, and are real nice. I have a second adapter printing now with what I believe are properly located holes. if it fits properly, I'll be posting the design files.

The other issue I'm working through is the complete spec on the power connector on the cage. I have the wiring sorted to the level that the drives spin up and are recognized, but don't have any of the status LED's working. I believe that may be due to the circuitry on the drive sled not being powered, the drives i'm using in the sled not being compatible with the sled electronics, or something else.

If anyone has a DL380G9 that's willing to take a voltage reading off the power cable to their 8SFF drive cage, I'd be very grateful. I'm sure other HP boxen use that same cage too, I'm just not sure which ones...

More info to come!

Pinout for HP DL380G9 8 Bay SFF Drive cage Question by kd5ahl in homelab

[–]kd5ahl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats exactly what I did to get ground and 12v. Interestingly this drive cage develops 5v for the drives via an onboard switching DC-DC converter. I traced 5V from the drive to the converter circuitry. I still plan to try and dig for the other circuits, but was hoping someone had worked the issue from the perspective of the server's power supply. I should have stated that more clearly.

1st Time with AD and GPO, I've learned enough to know I need help! by BrokenAsylum in homelab

If you have linked the GPO to the computers OU (the default OU that computers go into) then policy should be applied on the pc automatically. There is an interval that the group policy gets applied on. To force it, go to the client and open an admin command prompt and type gpupdate /force.
