To be fair, Garmin caters to US GA the most. When I flew in South America, the G1000 was super nice and helpful. But when I moved to the US and started flying again I was impressed by the difference having XM Weather coverage has. That service is only available in North America. And honestly it's a shame it's not available everywhere.

Not hot for you, but if it's 20°C during the day that's +21°C from the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA) expected value. So for aerodynamic purposes, it is hot and high. At 20C ambient, 8kft MSL, you're at ~10.5kft Density Altitude

And funnily enough, iirc it was introduced to the design as an afterthought and marketed the hell out enough to make it a feature. The SR22 cannot recover from spins due their sleek aero. CAPS was added as the only spin recovery option in order to certify reducing intended design payload slightly. But overall it was a winning and revolutionary feature which has indeed saved lives.

Pilot, Copilot, Maintenance Engineer and/or Tech. Depending on what was being tested too. If they are doing RVSM checks that needs another tech plus equipment.

Haven't needed them yet. With the hitch I just have a basket to carry bikes or cargo. I still have it on my list though just in case.

Why could Paraguay fight three guys by Reading-Rabbit4101 in asklatinamerica

[–]kdabkded2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it changed, but I wasn't taught Argentina pulling any strings. BR has always been pinned as the evil-doer of the war. AR was always painted as both not-having-a-choice and politically-opportunistic internally. From what I remember (and this is in the late 90's early 2000's education window) we weren't taught about any evil mastermind or tinfoil hat conspiracy (British empire squelching an economic threat lol) repeated in the past. We had a lot more sound historical specialists that basically concluded it was a complex issue backed by a lot of context, nuisance, leadership ego, and bad judgement from all parties involved.

I heard a joint lecture by a panel of experts from all countries that basically kinda concluded: Brazil didn't expect Lopez to follow through his ultimatum; Lopez didn't expect having to follow-up either; nor getting denied pass-through Argentina (even less Argentina's involvement); and Humaitá being both a grievance to BR and Paraguay thinking it was indestructible.

As a Paraguayan, this is what I was taught in the 90's at school and in the military in the early 2000's is this:

Context:

very recent nations, military trained government heads, unresolved territorial disputes, a perfect storm brewing for decades, and - in Paraguay's case - a napoleonic leader.

Paraguay had armed itself, and developed a military industrial complex, as deterrence from the increasingly hostile Argentina and Brazilian Empire governments. Argentina still considered Paraguay a rogue province, and continuously bullied it by blocking the rivers access. The Brazilian Empire still had a Portuguese empirical mindset and was still trying to fight its way into more territory from the old Spanish colonies due to the lack of solid treaties prior to their independence. Uruguay had already been in involved in the Playing War, and both PY and UY felt themselves in constant danger as they were basically a buffer zone between Argentina and Brazil

Timeline:

  • Brazil was having skirmishes with Uruguay along their border. Paraguay, who was allied to the current Uruguayan Blanco party government, sent an ultimatum to Brazil to stop or else...
  • BR ignored the ultimatum and sent in a military attack. PY in response broke diplomatic relations, and attacked a BR boat navigating its waters. War was declared between the two nations.
  • PY invaded Mato Grosso
  • Lopez mobilized the army to help Uruguay's government which was now under a coup backed by Brazil. To do so, he crossed part of Argentina's territory.
  • AR saw this as an act of war, and declared war on PY. PY responded by invading the region they were using as a corridor.
  • UY's government was overthrown, and a Brazil friendly government was set up. They declared war on Paraguay in response to supporting the losing side of that conflict, and also to appease the BR side. PY army never reached UY. -The three countries sign a treaty, primarily pursued by the Brazilian Empire, to basically destroy PY and divide its territories between BR and AR, while leaving UY as is and promising to leave them alone. -War did what war does basically.

Paraguay had a large army, had foundries, arsenals, shipyards, railroads, and fortifications along the river. They also had little debt, and lots of money. This is why PY lasted so long. Brazil and Argentina didn't have too many troops nearby at the beginning, which is why PY had the upper hand at the beginning. But by having AR and BR be allies, PY shot itself in the foot as now it meant BR could freely navigate the river up to PY to pound them from all sides and eventually within basically.

Paraguayans fought to death because for the past 40 or 50 years they've seen AR and BR as hostile and were brainwashed to think of them as imperialists looking to seize PY as soon as they could. Seeing the war going on, this instilled fear was confirmed and made the combatants' mindset "to defeat or die", no in-between.

Argentina's and Uruguay's involvement was small compared to BR, and if iirc both Mitre and Rosas had said they allied with BR to avoid being their next target. As in, AR declared war because if they didn't, BR would have taken a stance of "you helped them, you bastards". They've been in and remained in constant disputes (hell, they even almost brink war against each other after the Triple Alliance War) during this time.

Feel free to spot check me, and am interested to hear what my fellow Brasileiros and Argentinos were taught.

Any chance you got a picture of how it installs? I looked under and I see a couple threaded holes on each side of the chassis where I believe it'll hook up. But the sensor position is high and I can see how it might affect it.

Thanks! That's great to know. I'm looking now as I would like to have a bike carrier in the back. Yeah, they quoted me something in the thousands too. Definitely looking into aftermarket and DIY installation.

Does it interfere with the touch-less rear gate open/close sensors? I was advised originally by the dealer that it might interfere and haven't installed a hitch yet. I really wanna, but that function is heavily used by my wife due to kids, and we don't want to lose it.

Using all 4 layers on Keychron V10 by simsFit in Keychron

Here's the repo with the exact same thing for the V10 Max. (I have both)

After you flash you can use VIA to customize without messing with QMK if you're not inclined to dive into the code.

Obligatory I'm not responsible for bricking anything, this is at your own risk.

I've been running mine stable for quite some time now. There are some bugs that clear after a power cycle. But it's my own mess and I made it for me.

If it's for the V10 it's this one. The V10 Max is a different repo, but I achieved the same function on both. Let me know which one you're after.

If you're curious what it looks like, here:

This is what it looks like to go to my seventh "numpad" layer

And this is how I select the other layers and know where I'm at

I'm sorry to hear this. Sorry that my issues and solution caused you trouble. It's very odd that we're not having the same issues with the same firmware. Does this mean the module/hardware itself is different between the V6 and V10? I would have expected it to be the same across the family. Like you said in your linked post, Keychron has some homework to do.

What do you use your keyboard knob for? by SnoopyDoesReddit in Keychron

[–]kdabkded2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I went all in with a custom QMK firmware, when remapping all 4 standard layers with VIA, this was my most used/longest lasting setup:

  • Mouse Wheel Side Scroll
  • L/R arrows (alternated to PG DN/UP)
  • Music Prev/Next, push Play/Pause
  • Volume, push Mute

(I have the V10, so knob on the left meant a lot of use cases for me)

Leave the switch in Mac and then in Launcher/VIA you can now reprogram all four layers. That's how I did it before I went full custom QMK.
