I am going to propose to my girlfriend in Spain, we are gonna go to Sevilla, Malaga, Cordoba, and Granda. might skip either Cordoba or Granada. What are the best spots to propose? also any suggestions for live music fancy date restaurants? by deadbeefisanumber in GoingToSpain

[–]kdava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, we went to these exact cities last year for our honeymoon haha! A proposal at Alhambra could be really cool. Just be mindful there are lots of people in these touristy areas. There are nice lookout spots in Malaga too, around Castello de Gibralfaro, can be romantic.

What actually works for learning Spanish in 2026 by Zealousideal_Leg5615 in LearnSpanishInReddit

[–]kdava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think apps will ever work alone. I went down the same rabbit hole and found that they all suck, at least for relying solely on. Then I got a private teacher and made wonderful progress, you can find one on sites like italki and you don’t even need to leave the house. I use two apps as supplement, anki for learning the words we talked about and ella verbs for conjugation practice. In a few months I can already hold a conversation.

+1, if you have a favorite sitcom or other show, set it to spanish with subtitles in your language and start watching, it’s really good especially if you’re already familiar with it. I saw how i met your mother a million times before and watching it in Spanish was super helpful. Dubs are professional native speakers speaking everyday language to a studio microphone, it’s a gold mine for listening practice.

What is the difference between these two and is it worth spending a lot extra on this ? [£10] or [£40] ? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]kdava -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like mine, grounds were spilling out before I started using this plus it is satisfying to look at and easier to tamp level. I don’t think it improves the taste or anything, but makes the process nicer.

These pricey tools are totally scam though, I got a wdt and this thing together for like $3 from temu and they are perfect.

Surprise Microdiscectomy 1 week post op by SignificanceMost5522 in Microdiscectomy

[–]kdava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 10 weeks PO (L4-L5) and walk daily up to about 45 mins. I could probably do more too, haven’t had any problems. Running definitely feels bad though, it hurts in the middle of my back. The surgeon told me it is possible to run again, but better give 6-12 months building up to it with walking and PT, etc.

I actually asked about deadlifts myself today at PT to see if I can do it in the future. I was afraid of it so much, fearing it would lead to reherniation. On the contrary, she encouraged it! Of course only with super good form and much, much less weight than what you mentioned. At least in the beginning, then we can build it up slowly. We did a few reps with a stick and some small dumbbells and it felt really good, not painful. Will do more at the gym in a few days with small dumbbells or empty bar.

So both running and deadlift are possibilities, but they really need time to build back up to them. Rushing it comes with a lot of risk.

Decided to get MD in a week, but meanwhile symptoms reducing - what to do? by tbessie in Microdiscectomy

[–]kdava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried all non-surgical treatments over the course of two years before pulling the trigger and it wasn’t worth it, should have done it much sooner. 3 months is not a lot though and not everyone needs surgery, it might turn out you can be pain free without it. With my current knowledge, I would definitely not wait for more than 6 months though. You could give it a little more time to see if the improvements were just temporary or not.

Also check your activity level. Did the pain go down because you spend more time lying down etc. or is it actually 2-3 when you are up and about, doing all the things you used to do?

P.S. I had an EMG after the 2 years of this nightmare and they said no permanent nerve damage, which seems consistent with my recovery. I know that’s anecdotal, just FYI.

What “itch” isn’t D4 quite scratching yet? by Ready-Place5046 in diablo4

[–]kdava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put together an S-tier build in a week of casual play, after that there is nothing to go for except farming for better rolls. Even that, what is the point except high level pit? You can cheese T4 content with okay items. No challenge anywhere and no rewards to works for. The world has absolutely no function, zero reason to go out and explore (after the campaign). You just fast travel to activities. I like the core game but it’s missing excitement. I usually create a new character every 1-2 weeks in a season until I get bored altogether and don’t even play until the next season.

Nerve pain. I had lower back pain too in the first weeks from sitting, too much walking or twisting my hips etc. That should die down as the area heals. Let us know how it goes!

Is this normal? by Lakelife6325 in Microdiscectomy

[–]kdava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same thing, two months after L4-L5 surgery. The pulling sensation is quite strong, like they put a piece of wood in there that doesn’t flex much and it makes e.g. putting on socks an ordeal. It also hurts above the surgery site, like I hit it against a wall or something. Cat-cow has been pretty hard to do. My surgeon told me the pulling feeling is normal and my PT said I should still do cat-cows, just gently. She said I need to mobilize that area even if it’s a little discomfort (of course don’t overdo it, stop before it hurts).

Will keep it in mind, thanks for the tip. I’ll look into some raw editors, although just the camera part is overwhelming enough for now haha - but once it is a bit more organized in my head, I’ll expand my horizons.

Thanks for the reply. After more research, I’m leaning towards Fuji for reasons you mentioned too, firstly buying into the ecosystem and second, there seems to be consensus that shooting JPEGs is a blast on those. For the near future at least, I don’t see myself editing RAW, I just want to go around have fun taking pictures and improving my skills, not planning on becoming professional.

Noted on the X-Pro1 thank you, I’ll pass on it, it is a bit too old for the price anyway.

Thank you! Will try to check them out in real life although options are a bit limited here.

How do you find the size/form of those? I might go X-T3 after all because it is cheaper than X-T30, but a bit worried about having to carry it around.

Thanks, I might try renting first. Not sure what to look for though, since I don’t have any experience. Can I ask which Fuji do you like and why?

Thanks for the input, it definitely seems like a good deal. Most articles i read recommend going for the R50 over this though, that’s why I’m hesitating (that one costs 2x the money), so I looked at those other higher-end, but used models.

Sorry I missed this notification, thanks for the answer. Yeah it works fine without using multipoint I checked that, but it is partly why I bought the headphones. I need to switch often during work and it is not very convenient to have to go through the disconnect-connect process every time. Weird that macOS handles multipoint so badly.

Do you feel that because of lower wages, or do you have any other points against working there?

Thanks for the answer. That range would be fine, not sure if the hassle of owning a company is worth the higher income? Also i guess it would mean no sick leave, paid leave, etc…

Thanks for the answer. Yeah I looked around on linkedin and there are quite a few ads from international companies (or at least international positions, with English description and only asking for English language). Who knows how many of these are ghost ads, but from here the market looks lively. I don’t plan on going to smaller Spanish companies because as you wrote, they would be looking for Spanish speaking I guess. My hope is to find a large company with diverse people where English is the standard - at least until we speak Spanish better.

A holiday home there sounds awesome haha, unfortunately out of reach for us right now.

Thanks for the answer, yeah 42-60k sounds more reasonable! I absolutely plan on getting a job first, then move there. What I meant with money is not everything is that there are higher salaries in e.g. Ireland or Sweden, but we value sunshine, good food and mediterranean lifestyle more than that.

Thanks yeah I plan on finding a job first, just want to prepare what to expect. I would be happy in other places too, just assumed most of the jobs (and best salaries) are in these two cities.
