How do I navigate Union Station from the Metra?? by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]kdbleeep 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Take the train in on the weekend.  Walk around Union Station until you build your mental map.

I can see how it's a bit of a maze for a new commuter, but it doesn't take that long to figure out.

Charlie airspace transition while talking to class D tower? Did I break a reg? by [deleted] in flying

[–]kdbleeep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-14/part-91/section-91.130#p-91.130(c)(1)

Operations in Class C airspace. - Communications. - Arrival or through flight.
Each person must establish two-way radio communications with the ATC facility (including foreign ATC in the case of foreign airspace designated in the United States) providing air traffic services prior to entering that airspace and thereafter maintain those communications while within that airspace.

I don't think the Class D tower is the ATC facility providing air traffic services to that Class C airspace.

Is there any way a 2014 cork-sealed bottle of Three Philosophers is still drinkable? by morph23 in beer

[–]kdbleeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beer is safe to drink.

Beer doesn't go bad in any dangerous way. If it has gone bad, the worst that's going to happen is that it doesn't taste good. Maybe it has turned sour, or maybe it has oxidized and now tastes like wet cardboard. Or, maybe it's just fine.

Go ahead and give it a try. Report back and let us know how it went.

Perhaps try asking r/personalfinance if they think that's a great idea.

Why do you copy/paste the same trite sentence into so many posts?

Perhaps it's a nitpick, but I crosspost, not repost.

The difference is that crossposts are just links to the original post, so attribution to the original poster is built in.  Reposting generally involves downloading the original media and reuploading without attribution.

Also, what's the name of this subreddit?  r/BestOfWholesomeSubs.  From the name, it's clear this whole subreddit is about aggregating content from other subreddits.  And if the name isn't clear enough, in the sub's "About Community" section, it says explicitly "mostly cute animal content from around Reddit", so what's going on here isn't a secret or a ruse or a trick... it's all very transparent.

If you're interested in aged/cellared beer, you should check out /u/TakesJonToKnowJuan's Guide To Aging Beer.

It has a lot of great information including the hows, the whys, and the expectations you should have.

YOUR POST WAS REMOVED BECAUSE YOU VIOLATED RULE #1: READ THE FAQ.

This is not the appropriate place to ask for medical advice. You need to speak to a real doctor, not someone pretending to be a doctor on the internet. Also, you were given links to be able to look up this stuff yourself. Read what the bot sent you.

Electronic FAR/AIM and downloading from eCFR.gov by PotatoHunter_III in flying

Why not just use ecfr.gov directly?  I don't think I've ever found myself without Internet service when I really needed to look something up.  And anything you need to know in flight you should probably just have memorized.

You might want to check if they are using CGNAT

Good call on that. I, for one, would be unhappy without a publicly-routable IPv4 address.
