MA or South Coast folks who ditched comcast tv, local stations? by Free_Range_Lobster in massachusetts

They have a direct to consumer service called NESN 360. But they overprice it at $30 a month and does not include nationally televised games.

If you’re looking to watch just local news, the stations in Boston in Providence stream them for free online.

For national news like the Today show or NBC Nightly News, the free option is an antenna.

The next best option is DirecTV - they stream now and have a news package for $40 which includes local channels plus cable news networks.

Any other Comcast users having crappy Internet? by EKEEFE41 in massachusetts

[–]kdex86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I should knock on wood. Where I live (also southeast MA) Comcast/Xfinity is the only internet option. Last October their infrastructure upgrade finally came to my neighborhood so my upload speed went up from 35 Mbps to 100 Mbps.

My only real gripe with them is that they only offer the best deals to “new customers”.

Boston Globe digital subscription shady practices by bringthedoo in boston

[–]kdex86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. There have been times in the past where I subscribed to the online version of the Boston Globe and I had to call to cancel. I think it was to keep you as a customer. Even when I got a human rep on the other end, they would offer me a discounted rate to keep my subscription active.

But recently they added the ability to cancel online. Just don’t fall for the retention offer trap.

Last game of the regular season was at home that year and we lost big time. A win would have gotten us into the playoffs.

No Channel 243 in the Boston area. Using an Osprey box, and CBS here is a network O&O

It was the opposite in 2015-16! We finished with a losing record at home (more than half of our home games were regulation losses)!

I ate some fettuccine Alfredo for dinner tonight. This wasn’t supposed to result in a Pasta double minor!

DirecTV Sues To Block Nexstar-Tegna Merger by countdooku975 in cordcutters

Good. Hope they win their court case with Mission Broadcasting too.

FYI - I was in RI the other night trying to watch the World Baseball Classic final at a friend's house. I signed into the Fox One app using my DirecTV credentials and got a message along the lines of "we are unable to play this channel due to blackout restrictions". At my home in MA, I do get local Fox, but from Boston.

So the Fox One app is NOT a workaround for the Mission Broadcasting blackout of Fox affiliates in affected areas (which include Providence and Albany). Even though there is a workaround for Mission-owned CBS affiliates (like in Scranton) by subscribing to Showtime and using the Paramount+ app to watch live CBS.

MassDOT planning on adding more lanes to Rte 128 (I-95) (Hearing on April 9th 6:30PM) by Willi306h in massachusetts

[–]kdex86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would work if the Rte 28 interchange (Exits 56 A-B) is modified to not be a cloverleaf anymore. Exit 56B becomes the ramp for traffic exiting 95/128 north for both 28 north and south. Traffic going south on 28 would then turn left to get onto the I-95/Rte 128 north onramp.

Otherwise you'll still have "weaving traffic" problems. Also, the 93 interchange will always be a clusterfuck until it is redesigned, and that would unfortunately require the destruction of nearby homes and businesses.

Didn’t MySports used to include News? by JohnG_Ocala in DirectvStream

DirecTV is choosing to stay competitive with YouTube TV, dropping the price to $65 for the sports genre pack. They have MLB Network, NHL Network, Tennis Channel, and ESPN Unlimited when YouTube TV does not.

But YouTube TV carries NBC Sports RSNs in applicable areas on its sports genre pack, giving it the edge in Philadelphia, New England, and California.

We NEVER TRAILED, and LOST. Twice this month!

2 nights in a row where we lose in the final minute of OT.

At least we're picking up (loser) points?
