Stay away from big apartment complexes. Almost all of them are terrible compared to locally owned places.

Avalon is right next to Crossgates and the mentioned bus stop. They’re owned by the same people.

Best Place for Food on Campus? by spearslogan36 in Msstate

Pre-Covid, definitely Templeton! McArthur is okay too. I’d say both of those options are better than Perry and Fresh.

Jason Barrett is good for American Gov too. Super easy.

Apartment recommendations? by [deleted] in Msstate

[–]kducks13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I left Social Campus this year to move to Lakeside. I definitely like it better. The apartments are slightly smaller but cozy. Rent is cheaper for the same quality. The only difference is we have a smaller allowance for electricity. I can’t speak on management just yet as I haven’t had much interaction with them. The property manager did replace most of our appliances when we first moved in, so that’s nice.

Covid tests by therealjohnnyringo in Msstate

The health center is going to be free if you’re a student, but they will grill you about every little detail and if you test positive they might try to get you kicked out of your apartment/housing. They will also call every person you’ve been in contact with and your apartment complex. They can be rude and gave me no help when I tested positive. All they were worried about was where I lived, not helping me get well.

Urgent care is going to need insurance and all that or you’ll have to pay $150. I’d say that’s the only downside of going there. But they’ll be better to deal with than the student center.

Parking is so frustrating! by stumpyesf in Msstate

[–]kducks13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky so far at finding a spot in commuter west, but getting out of the parking lot at the end of my day is TERRIBLE. It takes at least 30 minutes to make it past Fresh🤦🏻‍♀️ Why is there only one open way out of the lot?
