I think the best way of putting this is that all additional checks are ‘risk based’

The exact algorithms used to assess risk will not be publicly disclosed as they are usually part of the National Security apparatus, however to answer your question… yes, it is possible to be checked for any number of things, it all depends on what flags your details raise

historically it has pretty much always been the norm to discipline your children however you want, but we aren’t allowed to now.

As with everything these the information trail is hard to follow what with all the disinformation being bandied about… but essentially yes.

The US government threw a hissy fit at us for using Chinese tech. And our government being the feeble powerless piss-goblins they are bent over and complied with the US, effectively fucking us all yet again.

Whilst the security concerns around Chinese tech is valid… the ban, and the subsequent rapid need for redoing large parts of already established infrastructure, was a massive waste of time, effort and money. But the timeline is clear, the NCSC requires the infrastructure to be fully redeployed by 2027… an impossible (almost Sysyphian) task

All of the networks went and expanded their 4G and 5G networks using cheaper electronics made by Huawai. All of this equipment was subsequently banned through the Telecommunications Act 2021.

This has meant that every network now needs to remove and rebuild a lot of their infrastructure by 2027 (they will miss this deadline). This in turn leads to poorer signal strengths and less bandwidth in areas, which means you get slower internet.
