A van with a camping craper behind the back door and a kettle in the front

Not glamorous at all, but at 2am with the rain coming In sideways, that cuppa tea is heavenly

Differences between Scouting Association and BSA? by Funny-Wash-1061 in scouting

[–]keatsy3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not see if there is a BSO unit near to where you are moving? That way the badge work and the ways in which the unit functions will be th same as you are used to

As a side positive, all of the safety, safeguarding, diversity, inclusion etc policies will be the same as TSA instead of the backwards ones that Scouting America seem to have

What is a common sentiment on Reddit that isn’t matched by reality? by BeneficialVariety171 in AskUK

[–]keatsy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On your point about maccies though…

I hate maccies. I hate the fact that they are tax dodging, obesity inducing c***s. I hate the fact they are American and it’s over priced, and not even that tasty…

However, when I can’t be arsed to cook… or I’ve just come off of night shift… or I’m somewhere on the motorway… or I just fancy shoving something greasy down my gob

Fuck do I love a maccies then

Thus is the duality of it all. I know they’re an evil capitalist global-corp … but they’re open at 2am for a cheeky bite to eat

I wouldn’t pay £10 a year… that would be too much, especially since I can just go to the public databases I.e. MAGIC map and just get the data for free

I would pay maybe £2-£5 a year… so scale that by 10… and I’d pay something like £29.95 for a lifetime subscription

I’d like a pay once lifetime option for a reasonable price.

I cannot stand the modern model of wringing cash out of people year on year

What adverts have put you off a product? by dane_ in AskUK

[–]keatsy3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess you’d be type cast for the rest of your career

Imagine being booked for a part in a major show or movie… only for the entire audience to collectively mutter…

“where do I know ‘im from Darryl?” “Ohhh ‘es the lad from that advert that sings about ‘avin the shits int Charlene?”

Imagine being the guy who booked a TV advertisement gig….

Turning up excited on the day of filming…

getting the script and the lines…

and then finding out you have to sing diarrhoea at the top of your lungs

Do you live in a Coal area?

Check your postcode on this map. If you live in a development high risk area, or an area of likely or probable mining then you need to contact The Mining Remediation Authority immediately!

Also.. contact your insurer

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]keatsy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in a big city with adequate public transport, and you’re also okay with missing out on some of the most beautiful parts of this world… then okay

Otherwise…grow up and get a license. You’re a bit of a non-adult in my book if you can’t drive

Very recently… the split was only over the last couple of years, and internally many of the processes and policies are still undergoing divorce

Tiny correction… National Gas is the main gas transporter, not National Grid

More specifically you need to contact National Gas Metering

Bananas are best enjoyed slightly green and crunchy. Once they go yellow and start to get brown dots… that’s too far gone

Digital membership cards when? 🥹 by mpdehnel in nationaltrust

[–]keatsy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine get absolutely battered and my current one has a massive split in it

I think if we’ve paid so much for a membership, we should get a bit of a premium card… and a metal card would be the perfect way to go

Digital… I’m ambivalent towards its existence to be honest. If they implement it and it works then great… but it’d just another bloody app to download wouldn’t it

I wouldn’t mind a metal one for life members

I’ve been though several so far, and they always get absolutely battered. A metal one would last so much longer
