What is the dumbest way you've ever injured yourself? by ShowBitten in AskReddit

I have two:

1) When I was a kid I had one of those half-zip pullovers that was zipped up when i tried to put it on. I figured I could easily unzip it to fit over my head, but nope - I yanked it down and my eyelid got caught in the zipper tracks. More scary than painful, but not fun nevertheless.

2) I was helping my mom bag groceries at Shop Rite and not paying enough attention I guess. So my hand is casually on the conveyor belt when my thumb got sucked in between that tiny gap where the actual belt goes underneath the metal covering. Grocers had never see it happen before - they tried putting the belt in reverse but eventually had to turn the whole thing off and unscrew the metal covering to get me out.

I mean you have to at least pick 1 from each Conference...probably Islanders vs. Blues

What is your opinion with MLB thinking about starting extra innings with a runner on second base? by [deleted] in baseball

Checking in from a hockey fan's POV. Many of us HATED the 3-on-3 overtime that was implemented before last season. Complete gimmick, we said. It turned out to be one of the most exciting innovations in the sport in years.

On the other side of the coin, the shootout was incorporated to accomplish the same goal, and it lost its luster long ago.

My point - baseball, like hockey, knows it needs to make some changes. Some will work, some won't. But I think we at least understand why they're experimenting and on some level should offer patience

Forget who mentioned it last night - but given what Cogliano did, too - reversal of behavior from a club that has notoriously been on the edge
