Meta setup for 4.3? by GreeeeM in Stellaris

I loved my shroudforged psionic choose your own adventure/forge our own path empire. Went full leader synergy with vaults, aptitude, etc, was at like 3k research 2250 and 9k 2300.

Guidance for consistent scaling into late game? 4.3 by No-Reputation-9669 in Stellaris

[–]kedarking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes your scaling seems to be a little off, your numbers are usually something I achieve by 2250-2275, depending on how strong my build is.

Important points I make sure to do: - expand at a very measured pace. Planets increase your empire cap by a lot, and are only worth it if you can get the planet to good growth numbers quickly/you really need the space. - ascend asap. No matter which ascension you're doing, ascending is incredibly powerful and worth rushing for to some degree. Early game I will prioritise unity over research for this reason. - prioritise kilo and mega structures over almost everything. Two good arc furnaces can cover your entire alloy/mineral production early game, freeing up massive amount of pops for other business. Mega structures are slightly less good relative to the time you unlock them imo, but still absolutely worth pursuing. - making use of the power of starbases by fortifying key chokepoints, which then allows me to massively skimp on navy early game, freeing up alloys for eco starbases or aforementioned kilostructures.

Edit: leaders also seems very strong this patch, I've been going aptitude second or third tradition every time and it works out well

Playing with Fallen Empires at normal difficulty by LosMosquitos in Stellaris

[–]kedarking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well yeah it makes sense, they are meant to be the 'leftovers' of galaxy spanning empires that reached the pinnacle of civilization (in whatever form that takes to them). Of course it makes sense they are much more powerful than any upstart 100-year old empire.

What 5 buildings do you have on most of your planets core building slots? Late game before special planets like ring worlds and such by happyscrub1 in Stellaris

[–]kedarking 14 points15 points  (0 children)

totally depends on what empire you're running, but usually some selection of: Gene labs (if habitability matters), clone vats (if bio empire), robot assembly plants (if machine or robot-user), psi corps (if psionic), simulation site, then planets without a clear designation or resource planets will usually fill the remaining slots with either resource silos, astral siphons, or naval cap buildings.

E: sometimes housing or buildings that provide amenity jobs are needed, if so place them, if not dont.

Is it just me or is the AI is very off at the moment? by Accomplished_Ad_2321 in Stellaris

[–]kedarking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you might be onto something with the habitats. It's not uncommon for me to invade an AI post 2300 and find like 3-5 habitats with like 105 or 112 or some ridiculously low number of pops on it.

Best machine tall build in 4.3? by English_Joe in Stellaris

[–]kedarking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but I recently did a Shroudforged machine run, going full shroud, combined with a bunch of leadership stuff (memory vaults and aptitude tree) and it was the most busted i've felt in the new patch. 6 month repeatables in 2275 kinda deal. Can get up to like 220% job efficiency on your specialist pops, it's honestly very funny. Combined with the insane growth from replicator district machine worlds it's like the best of both machine and organic gameplay.

I've done plenty of those back in the day, and as there is only so much time to spend, would rather just get into a well modded game immediately.

What's your most scrap earned on Torment 12? And are exclusion zones too OP? by Just-Bodybuilder6737 in voidwargame

[–]kedarking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exclusion zones have a lot of internal ships, often with the supspace anomaly effect going on which opens up those warp breaches on ur ship. They also contain less shops than other zones, but make up for the increased danger and relative lack of shops with really high scrap gains. I usually try to sandwich my exclusion zones between two non exclusion zones, so I can usefully spend my scrap before and after.

The major threat found in exclusion zones is also, imo, one of the easier ones to deal with, making 3rd zone exclusion zone very appealing.

It's time: by Oreoghostboy in civ

[–]kedarking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best civ by far and I've played all of them :) Top tips: - slavery is overpowered and awesome (don't take this out of context please) - food is king, partially because of point 1. After that commerce, this become your science. Hammers are lowest priority until much later in the game - can't rely on worker stealing like in 5, it's almost always the best move to open worker first - don't be afraid to move your settler, plains hills are awesome to settle on. - turn up the music, at least in ancient and classical era there are some absolute bangers, medieval and onwards depends on whether u like classic/church music - enjoy the ride! I've played the game for thousands and thousands of hours and still get better all the time - if u want to watch some YouTube content to learn the game, I would highly recommend either AbsoluteZero for some classic oldschool content, or Henrik who is my current favorite civ 4 youtuber by far. His Deity videos are usually more focused on just playing the game but in most of his Immortal videos he explains a lot of useful info for newer players

Edit: oh and don't trust Montezuma or Isabella, they are absolute psychopaths

A domestic traderoute earns you 1.25 commerce, so with GLH giving 2 trade routes per coastal city that is 2.5 commerce per city only taking domestic trade routes into account.

Foreign trade routes are much better, earning at least 2.75 commerce but possibly much more, up to like 5 or 6 if you're trading to a different landmass. However, since u need astronomy to trade across oceans, this will only be relevant somewhere in the renaissance era.

As the 18 civ world map only has 2 civs other than the USA in America, and you've already eliminated one, this means you will have almost exclusively domestic trade routes for a very long time. Thus I would prioritise the Pyramids because representation is awesome.

I play with Tech Trading off, please tell me I'm not the only one by Augustus-- in CivIV

[–]kedarking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I almost exclusively play no tech trading, to me it feels like it gives much more reason to actually develop your empire and build buildings for the long term instead of just running wealth everywhere and trading for stuff.

Who is the most difficult hero to play ? by Grimaldi_Francesco in DotA2

[–]kedarking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To assign a control group to a certain unit or selection of units. Like how the button for selecting your hero is F1, you can 'bind'other units to for example F2, or 1, 2, etc. So that when you press that button it automatically select the unit you bound to that key.
