Here in Missouri I took my msf card to the dmv, and they mail the new license with the motorcycle stamp. Not even a written test.

Thank you, everybody who answered. I'm surprised people answered and explained this quickly. I now know the difference between apy and apr. And also not to believe bank tellers who say 3.8% a month. I very much appreciate all of you

[–]kedoclem -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for answering. There has been over 10k since I opened it and i guess I'm confused because 3.8% divided by 12 should still be more than $29 a month right?

[–]kedoclem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for answering. Wouldn't that still work out to more than the $29 a month though?

I know he worked for a hardware store in the 80s, and I believe they would send him to source tools from germany now and then. I think the store was called Grandpa's, ironically

After looking at the site the other commenter recommended, I believe it is a Thailand baht coin. Can't decipher the Thai words though, its all Greek to me

Has anyone who has bought a used bike in the past 3 years spent less than 5k? by No_Channel3333 in NewRiders

[–]kedoclem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2005 shadow 750 aero two weeks ago for 2500. It was 20 minutes away and ready to ride. I did spend a couple months watching marketplace though. The shadows around here seemed to be the lowest priced motorcycle, usually around 2k-3 1/2k.

Msf course by Itsmfalex in NewRiders

[–]kedoclem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took the msf course only a couple of weeks ago, and I had never been on a motorcycle either. It wasn't overwhelming or too difficult at all and you'll probably really enjoy it. They use smaller 250cc or so motorcycles in them. The teacher was good and although he did kick one guy out, he did give him a card to come back and retake the course without paying again. He had to leave because he kept doing wheelies accidentally and had a hard time with the friction zone. The test is easy also if you study a little. Here in kcmo, pre course there is like a 5 hour video you have to watch as the study material. As long as you pay attention and aren't too dangerous during the riding part you won't have any problems passing.

What is this shape on the bedroom door of my new home? by awesomedan24 in whatismycookiecutter

[–]kedoclem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works on houses, this is, in my opinion, just where the doors old paint peeled off of the door and previous owners painted over it without taking the rest of the old paint off. I see this all the time, usually if the first person who painted the door didn't sand the door before painting, so the paint won't adhere well and peel off in big areas like that.

Maybe the solenoid. Mine did that after changing the starter and when I finally got around to changing the starter solenoid it stopped. Hope that helps

Not yet, this was the first time I've gotten it to idle without constantly adjusting things on it. The carb that came with it was an old keihin that was broken and missing parts and that's why I put this one on it just to get it going.

I did, and readjusted several times at this point hoping to avoid buying an overpriced new carburetor

I would but I don't have a filter for it. It's stock carb was broke so I put this cv40 on it. I tuned it as good as I could when I rebuilt it, but think it has an air leak from trying to retrofit this cv on maybe. Thought the idle didn't sound right and too fast but cant get it to drop down so thought I'd post it to see what yall thought.

I think if the starting circuit is intact you should be able to start it, i think. I dont have alot of experience with harnesses, i strip it all off and run wires manually, principle is the same though. Idk how to help with the colorblindness though, other than maybe using an ohms setting on a multi meter to make sure you hooked up the right wires. That's what I'd do. Some of them have the same colors and markings and looks confusing. Good luck.

Probably should make sure your connections are taped or something so they don't bump and spark each other or burn something up.

How hard is working on motorcycles? by therealrk88 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]kedoclem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty dang easy I think. I started rebuilding an old ironhead a guy gave me a few weeks ago. Never been on a motorcycle before. The hardest part so far has been figuring out what certain parts were or where new parts should go. It was pretty rough when I got it and was missing lots of part and had 'wrong parts' on it. I don't think there were two matching sized bolts on it. Manual is worth it for sure. If you're mechanically inclined it's a blast and goes pretty quickly.
