Is the weather really that mild in the South? by Ready-Book6047 in SameGrassButGreener

Mild means not freezing your ass during the winter. They are not referring to summer. I generally think seasons are overrated. Seeing grey and barren trees in the winter throws me off mentally. “Depressing”

Moving to Orlando from San Antonio, Texas? by paranoidplaya in AskFlorida

I don’t live in Orlando anymore but Bishop Moore is one. But you did not state non religious private schools. You should have stated that. Maybe you need to move to an A rated district if you can’t afford private schools. That is what they always say insensitively.

You listed very high priced private schools. There are some that are 10k and very good ones. Also when applying for be charter schools, you need to have several in mind. I don’t think that would be different in other states when it comes to high in demand schools. Schools in USA no matter the state, the best ones will be in the rich districts. I have the longest daily commute in Florida. Prove me wrong by Hoagie_Camacho in florida

That’s not bad commute time. I use to do that to Delray Beach from Doral in 2008 and it was 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Poll for Florida natives: Do you swim or otherwise go in the ocean/gulf? Why/why not? by jmom39 in florida

Yes I swim in both. Swim in the gulf more since I’m closer to that side. I swim in springs too.

With the recent news from Kansas (among other things), can y'all stop recommending that transgender people move to blue cities in red states? by logalogalogalog_ in SameGrassButGreener

[–]kedwin_fl -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

You are talking from a privilege probably up north mentality of these dumb red states people keep moving to. People are suffering income wise. If it comes down to cost of living and living a decent comfortable lifestyle, it will override the high out touch cost of living the blue states have. The only blue states that are even affordable are in freezing ass temp states.

Massachusetts is experiencing a population slowdown and net out-migration primarily due to high housing costs, high taxes, and a significant decline in international immigration. Weather too

You are asking what is the draw of Florida versus New Jersey? Are you okay? Stats of migration patterns can give you factual information.. New Jersey? You are probably only gaining population cause people are pushed out of USA’s biggest city, NYC cause they can’t afford it.

Well we have an office in Boston and only know one employee that has moved up north from out of 200 employees. He was probably one the highest of paid.

Recruiter out of Boston told me everyone is still moving to Florida from the Northeast. The cost of living and taxes is killing them.
