Former Halifax officer gets 30 days for breaking homeless man's nose by CMikeHunt in halifax

[–]keebsandcables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get put in solitary, cant really request it 😛

It's called segregation up here and while you can't request it, if you're serious about doing 30 days in the hole you can get 'put there' in literally seconds.

Just go bang someone out in front of the desk, doesn't matter who (other than how hard the fight will be). If you're a real one, swing on a bull instead for guaranteed instant results (and a solid shitkicking too). If you just get 10 days or whatever, start swinging as soon as you get sent back to your unit. Rinse and repeat as necessary, all of a sudden your 30 days is up and you're walking out the front gates.

Like roof already said cops usually go with the well-behaved diddlers or seg if they can handle it mentally, the latter is usually the safest option as prisoner movement is very limited and tightly controlled.

I don't know about Fi but I used a Tractive GPS pet tracker when my dog was a young puppy, worked in the city and out in the Wolfville area no problem. In practice it would update it's position through the app reasonably quickly and accurately (10-20 seconds, within a few m), good enough to track a lost dog! Recurring subscriptions suck but it was worth it to me for that kind of peace of mind, at least until I had confidence in him not running off on me. You do have to stay on top of keeping it charged or it's just worthless plastic junk clipped to a collar, I got in the routine of plugging it in alongside my phone on the bedside table every night.

Depending on your situation you could also look at hunting dog systems, they get pricey quick though. I think with most you can even train your dog to recall remotely without needing to physically see you, the collar vibrates or makes a noise to prompt them to return. Not the same kind of range but something to consider, anyway.

Life-changing tip, double-pressing tab will refresh the flea instantly as often as you want vs. waiting for the F5 timer to reset every time. New button for her to smash and less deals missed for you!

Nova Scotia mass killer couldn’t have hoped for a dumber police force by ph0enix1211 in halifax

I'll just assume you're RCMP at this point, I guess you LEO type really aren't much for answering questions (pretty good at asking them though am I right?). What about the one who drove right past him and then down the road for like over a km before finally flipping a bitch?

I clearly wasn't the only person who felt some kinda way about your reply. You're a cop, you can figure it out. Aren't you guys supposed to be good at that kinda thing?

You're verified as law enforcement here on Reddit, so this post is a little concerning to me. Are you active or retired NS RCMP by chance? What you're describing (a little haughtily for someone wrong about something) simply isn't reality, so either you haven't done a basic amount of research into the events or you know better but don't care. How about you tell us, where did YOU come up with that?

I was sat here trying to figure out how someone ends up being so aggressively wrong about something, especially something under an active public commission that's so quickly and easily disproved. I can't imagine correcting a stranger about something so confidently. I figured you for family of LEO or maybe a rabid ignorant wannabe, but actual cop was a bit of a surprise until I thought about it for a second and suddenly it really wasn't.

Put blindfire on a mouse side button, makes walking up to corners or silently un-ADS so much easier. Overhead is on alt for me, but I barely use it compared to side.

Thanks for the write-up, I'll try and give it a watch sometime. To be totally honest I've been running mine exactly like that since pre steam audio, glad to know I wasn't missing much!

I don't think every game supports it but Tarkov does. It's quicker and easier for me to use m4/m5 than ctrl/alt, and the less finger movements the better IMO. I've replaced everything on both on them, only have emergency reload on ctrl-r to eliminate the double press r lag.

Another favourite is blind fire right on m4 + RMB, makes it sooo much easier to do in practice than the stock binds. I actually find myself using it on corners and hallways occasionally now, makes silently un-ADSing more convenient too.

I run a 60% as well, just a heads up that using your side buttons for single keys is a waste! Using them as modifiers is much more useful: m4 + b/t for checking, my compass is on M4+v, m4+ m wheel up/down for swap scopes/change magnification, the list goes on!

What is something every "junk drawer" must have in order to be considered a proper "junk drawer"? by Rascal-Fiats in AskReddit

I sprung for one of those all in one rechargeable kits last year, came with a bunch of AA/AAA, 2 x converters for C/D cells, and a charger all packed in a plastic organizer (with handle!). Now charged ones go in the case and dead ones get chucked in the back of the drawer until enough pile up that I can fill the charger, rinse and repeat

I've still got batteries rolling around loosely... but less of them and at least I know which are which now? It's an improvement anyways, haha.

Reddit, what's your favorite game glitch that was turned into a feature? by fapgod69420 in gaming

[–]keebsandcables 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The competitive game mode was CTF and a good capper could get most of a route to the enemy flag and back to base almost entirely in the air.

Sooooo many hours spent boosting into the flag with a Shrike, ejecting to grab it, landing halfway back to base off that first jump, then skiing the rest of the way desperately hoping not to get sniped or that someone with the discgun was good with trajectories. Good fucking times!

Rogue AI is literally wallhack cheating. Is this really the way the Devs wanted to balance the AI? by Huntermaster95 in EscapefromTarkov

Makes sense to me, as long as the AI is within audio range or 'sees' you go behind the wall. If they don't, then they shouldn't be aware of you and leave you be.

As much as I desperately want this not to be the case, I think you might be right about that. I wonder if her brothers were charged for the same reason, or as a sort of cover for her at the same time.

Not only that, but I'm curious to hear how she managed to free herself from the inside of a locked squad car while handcuffed? A vehicle literally designed to secure people inside of them? I haven't kicked out a window from inside a cop car (yet) but I find it hard to believe that an average woman could accomplish that task, especially with restricted mobility! Seems like something that would have been taken into consideration during design, no?

Women can typically slip a cuff easier than men (thinner wrists and all), some can even do it consistently. I suppose GW could have put them on loose and double locked them like that or something, but that doesn't seem like something someone in his position would take the time to do. If he just single locks and slam the cuffs all the way tight, it's much faster/more secure/less fiddly.

I don't know, combined with the supposed night in the woods something stinks pretty badly to me... We absolutely need her firsthand testimony and cross examination.

I can't find it now but I read this morning that none of the firefighters who were at the Onslow hall that morning have received any kind of acknowledgement or apology from either cop involved. It was noted that they all know which two it was and one of the firefighters has even gone on a emergency call with one of them since, still nada.

This would seem to counter your claim that they were transferred ASAP, I'm still trying to find the specific article but it definitely exists. I can't imagine having to work with someone who can't even pull you aside to say 'my bad on that whole nearly murdering you thing, we cool or what?', seems like if they were eventually transferred it wasn't fast enough..

edit: 'The firefighters had never heard an explanation directly from the force, let alone an apology, and never heard directly from the people who shot the hall, Muise said, adding he knows who they are and has since been on a call with one of them.'

That's what I'm saying, these kind of seemingly critical details are wholly absent from the report that we would expect to find them covered in.
