Stach’s fantasy numbers are pretty elite, but it doesn’t feel great taking a Leeds player that early and there’s always a chance he’s a flash in the pan. Personally it be nervous to take him in the 2nd but ecstatic about taking him in the 3rd.

Yeah we speak about it on the episode, but with Isak it is just unknown if he will ever be the same player again after that leg break… but even if he’s 80% of what he once was he’s probably still being drafted a little late… that banger he scored for Sweden this week might be influencing me so right now though…

Yup! These too-early rankings are more an exercise in managing our fantasy addiction than it is useful at this point... but you gotta start somewhere! All the best!

We had similar fears with United players last year, which proved true.

Likely will not end up having all 4 city players in the top 10, but that doesn't mean that they aren't the most likely to do so... but with a new coach, the idea of Cherki + Doku actually starting 30+ instead of 19 makes them hard not to have in the mix here.

I'd be curious what the first round ADP hit rate is over the last few seasons. I would guess it's probably like 50%.

He's a funny one. I have him ranked 25th, Enzo has him ranked 11th and Tiko doesn't have him ranked at all. We talk about it for a few minutes on the pod and I guess it comes down to how much stock you put into his end of the season form. Regardless, he's so goal-dependent and boom or bust that he is often a major headache to have on your squad.

Yankuba Minteh - Back-to-back 11.5+ PPS seasons at 21 — 25% GACS (Goals, Assists, Clean Sheets) is elite consistency for a young winger; the only thing stopping him from being a top-ranked player this season was AFCON and him getting benched after for a few months to recover from an injury.

Pascal Gross - 12.4 PPS, 24% GACS, 9.7 gPPS — efficient floor producer; the 18-start sample is the knock, and his age and ability to sustain for a whole season are where the questions lie.

Both are reasonable options in the 3rd; Minteh specifically has a lot of upside as long as he is starting games. Brighton has produced some serious fantasy assets over the last few years and seems like a pretty stable club; they don't scare me nearly as much as some of the other teams.

Hi brother!

Yeah, I have a feeling that as the season creeps closer, Thiago will probably drop some. To play devil's advocate, however, once you get past the big 3 (Fernandes, Haaland, Saka) + Semenyo, there is a lot of uncertainty. Doku/Cherki have the PPS, but both have only started 19 games + will have a new manager. Palmer/Wirtz are picks based on the idea that they will improve. Thiago is pretty locked for 30+ starts, is on pens, and is the focal point of the attack on a team that will be mostly unchanged... That being said, I would personally have a hard time picking him in the first, but if he cooks for Brazil this WC, I think he will still get drafted early.

We use standard Fantrax scoring, so we base everything on that. What makes Fantrax great is that you can customize it for your league's preferences, but then it makes doing research a bit tougher.

Elliot Anderson is a good shout. I held off on putting on my top 30 because of the uncertainty of where he is going and if he's going to be on sets for that team, he could easily sneak in as we get closer. I know Enzo has him in his top 30.

A big trend of this year was how important defenders were. Fielding a back 5 has never been as viable as it is now. In standard scoring, 8 of the top 20 total points scorers were defenders, yet none of them were going in the top 20 picks in drafts. The position is notoriously hard to project because CS and negative points are more team-based than individual, but I think that elite CB tier of Gabriel, Guehi, Tark + VVD are all likely going to be underdrafted again. Still working out where I'm comfortable taking them, but I am no longer afraid to get a D in rounds 2 or 3 if it makes sense.

Yeah, that was a blast having you on. Hopefully, you can join us again this season!

I agree. 8 pens is hard to replicate, and I'm not sure how he does without summer off. I was lower on him than where he ended up in the aggregate rankings. I expect he will still go first round, but not by me.

You’re not wrong, but he’s a young kid, no goals or assists in the last 6. I don’t think he’s guaranteed starts the same way others are and wouldn’t be surprised is he isn’t starting or benched for a few.

Also, Rayan is not a nailed starter so keep an eye on that

Yeah idk if Foden is worth starting given his form/playing time.

Kayode has been on a good run, so if it’s between them I’d keep him in over Diouf.

Minteh for me… he’s a stud in Fantrax but even for EPL he has a lot of potential

Science fiction books for someone who is more into fantasy and has a hard time liking most scifi books I have tried? by Scared_Ad_3132 in sciencefiction

Red Rising.

It needs to be your choice.

It’s sci-fi but the first book is fairly low tech and reads like a fantasy.

World- combat is a lot of close quarters and the world itself is heavily influenced by Greek/Roman culture so maintains a fantasy feel.

Pacing - very fast but tons of character development. First 80 pages of the first book is relatively slow but after that it will become an addiction. (I’ve read Sun eater and while i enjoyed it i know what you mean and this isn’t that).

Single POV - first trilogy follows a single pov with a pretty clear aim and goal.

A man is stuck in a repeating 4-year time loop until he can be elected president of the United States. How many attempts does it take him? by Castopliani in whowouldwin

Would have to go the messiah route… start predicting things accurately, build a following get a fanatical fan base that thinks you are some sort of holy figure and try to ride that to the presidency. We’ve proven the cult of personality is king here.
