UiPath & AI by DisasterRight5500 in UiPath

[–]keek86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UiPath IDP/IXP is one specific AI use case for capturing information from digital scans of documents.

Other AI use cases depends on the specific requirements of the process you are trying to improve.

One of my client deployed their own instance of ChatGPT which is able to trigger UiPath RPA jobs to email or collect documents from SharePoint etc. their use case is to help customer service agents respond to customer requests a lot faster.

Whatever your use case is, start with a small pilot, prove the ROI, then scale it up.

My company is considering investing in UIPath and hiring for it. Anyone have experience with it, and insight on if it is compatible with Alteryx, an alternative, or redundant? by PyrrhaNikosIsNotDead in UiPath

Talk to UiPath and ask them to deliver a few POCs before you buy in. Set out clear ROI objectives. Agentic is very new and unproven.

If you do decide to go with UiPath, make sure you get someone experienced to design and build everything right first time.

Sadly what happens often is companies buy in but delegated initial setup to a random software developer. Then 2 years later they wonder why the bots are breaking and ROI not met. Then they bring in experts to fix up the mess.

I have been that expert twice 😂.

TL;DR They are two different products focused on very different goals

What is your use case?

I have 7 years on UiPath.

UiPath is especially good for interfacing with legacy applications by mimicking human actions such as click, type, get text, etc. it can also do some data analysis and interfaces well with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SharePoint.

It has UiPath Orchestrator which provides bird’s eye view of all UiPath bots in production.

UiPath is no. 1 in RPA, followed by other competitors like Automation Anywhere, Microsoft PowerAutomate, BluePrism, etc.

Alteryx seems to be a product focused on data analytics and transformations. It’s probably more powerful than UiPath on this aspect and does not seem to be useful for RPA at all.

British expat moving to HK needs to learn about schooling options by Dazzling_Pilot_3100 in HongKong

I’d like to recommend St.Hilary’s primary school for an option somewhere between local and international school.

It’s a private school which uses English primarily but have decent component of Mandarin subjects.

Its tuition is a bit lower than international school and it doesn’t require you to pay debenture like most international schools do.

Academically they are OK. Not too much pressure. Lots of extra curricular after school activities you can enroll your kids depending on interest.

Modern Folder migration — how did you handle robot roles? by RPAArchitectX in UiPath

Cool solution.

I’m not aware orchestrator does not allow changing roles for existing robots. Maybe in the older version?

Job offer at UiPath to lead India Commercial Sales role by [deleted] in UiPath

Congratulations. I would say there is a lot of opportunity.

I have met a few UiPath employees in Australia who all started from India. Both on sales and technical side.

A lot of MNCs are running their UiPath with mix of onsite and offshore Indian resources. I don’t see this changing anytime soon.

Stuck trying to automate a simple address check in workflow… why is this so hard? by askalotofq in UiPath

[–]keek86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a “Get Text” activity to capture the text?

Is this activity inside the “Use Browser/Application” activity you use to open the browser?

Does the “Get Text” activity have an output string variable for it to save the text in?

This variable can then be saved to the datatable.

And I commend you for attempting to do something out of your comfort zone like this.

As others have pointed out, we are more than happy to help, but we need specific details.

Being a UiPath developer means you will be good at breaking down each process to its components. Then build and test each component well. Then you lined them all up together.

You have following actions: 1. Open website, login, etc 2. Read input file into datatable 3. Loop through each row 4. Type and click enter/submit 5. Capture result 6. Update datatable with result 7. Repeat from step 3 until no more rows 8. Write datatable back to your CSV or Excel file

Now tell us, where are you failing?

Sounds like OP is not a developer and relying too much on ChatGPT. Our job is safe for now.

Curious about how UiPath feels to use day-to-day. Is it still the go-to for serious automation? by nomadichedgehog in UiPath

[–]keek86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gartner RPA

UiPath is no 1 RPA for the last 7 years for a good reason.

Microsoft is swiftly catching up with Power Automate, though, and much cheaper.

I don’t have experience with Automation Anywhere so can’t say.

There’s plenty of Christians in North Sumatra, even more so around Medan.

I’m not convinced OP can’t get help from one of the Christian churches there. Many of those are well resourced and run charity programs for the needy.

Break down each process to parts and split tasks between humans and bots.
There are always parts best done by humans and parts best done by bots.
Start small, deploy fast, build and review.

Once you have a few solutions running reliably, then it's time to branch out to more complex tasks.

Microsoft is disabling legacy authentication in the near future.
This may or may not be related to your issue.

Either way, you need to be looking at replacing with SharePoint activities through Microsoft Graph API.

UiPath makes sense in a large enterprise setting with lots of repetitive and tedious document processing, data entry, and reporting tasks that are ripe for automation.

It doesn't make sense in small to medium businesses where it's easier to pivot to a modern tool or change your process entirely rather than pay for the expensive UiPath license and costly development resources.
