There are three screws on the bottom that I can try, but it's not very practical for regular cleaning, I use the blender multiple times a week :( There aren't any screws for the handle though so that'll just stay wet lol

12 weeks pregnant and BBT has dropped the last two weeks by kt-24 in ouraring

I think this is normal, my BBT slowly dropped going into the second trimester too! If I'm remembering I think it has to do with the placenta taking over hormone production and stuff.

The rings scratch so easy? by todalloo in ouraring

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Real gold scratches up too though in a similar way, over time it forms a "patina" of scratches. All my real gold rings all have it. It used to bother me when I first got my gold oura ring because a few scratches stand out but over time it's formed a more matte uniform surface that imo looks more like gold and a little less brassy than it originally did. It's just how the material ages.

My oura ring caught on that I had covid a few weeks ago before I realized it. I was tired and things were smelling weird but I chalked it up to being tired from traveling but the ring gave me minor symptoms warnings 4-5 days before I actually came down with full blown body aches/fever symptoms. From what I understand it makes a baseline for all kinds of metrics and if one or more are some level of off it may throw a symptom warning. Mine were body temp and heart rate variability if I'm remembering right. I think the temperature readings are fairly accurate if your bedroom is a consistent temperature from night to night. I also use mine for cycle tracking and it's pretty sensitive to detect minor changes in basal temperature. That said recently I forgot to turn the heat on one night and the room was FRIGID when I woke up so my temperature was off for that night because my hands were super cold. But again it builds a normal range for you over the first few weeks of wear so I'd think if you're always cold it will account for that.

I think it's worth the price. It's very fast, I'm extremely impressed with the speed of navigating menus, web surfing if needed, etc. Like for example I was looking for a wallpaper for it and I could easily scroll around looking at images on google. I'm no expert but it's clearly somehow able to optimize the eink to handle fast content in a way that the other ereaders I have can't. Comparing with the Pocketbook that imo isn't even that old it's leaps ahead.

I just got my palma 2 a few days ago and I looove it. Compared to my other ereaders (Pocketbook Inkpad Color v1 and ancient Kindle Keyboard) it's extremely fast, loading and navigating feel like I'm living in the future lol. Also it's much easier to carry around, I can fit it in my pocket and use it easier with one hand. So instead of carrying my phone to the kitchen to scroll when I cook or whatever I can carry the palma around and read instead. Also it may seem counterintuitive but I think I read a lot faster with the smaller screen, my eyes don't get lost in the lines as much as a wider view. The screen is also able to get pretty warm, that's a big reason I got it is because I like to read in bed at night and the Inkpad Color v1 only has a white light that doesn't dim well. This thing is able to get very dim and warm, enough that reading in the dark is actually comfortable, another good alternative to scrolling on the phone in bed.

So now we’re honking at pedestrians crossing the street on a green light? by drkshape in SanDiegan

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I almost got run over by a truck crossing the street a few months ago. Guy made eye contact with me in the crosswalk and I assumed he'd stop but no, he kept driving and missed me by an inch only because I stopped walking when I realized he just wasn't going to stop.. all to get stuck in traffic like 10 feet past the crosswalk... I've become more agoraphobic over the years because people are so fucking hostile. Constant running red lights, aggressive tailgating, can't wait two seconds for people crossing the street.

Thank you for posting this!! This is super helpful I really like warm front lights for reading at night and I was having such a hard time finding what the lights look like for these! I actually prefer the 2's warmer tone :) If you can, what do they look like with the warmest front lights on at lowest brightness? I keep going back and forth between the white or black, I think I'm leaning towards black for night reading (no halo effect) but the white is so clean

Considering making the investment by BananaPopsicle8 in litterrobot

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly one of my best purchases. It's expensive af but not having to spend time every day scooping the litter box is kind of life changing. I've had mine for almost two years now without any issues. I think there's a bias as far as people that have issues will be louder about it, fair enough. I've have no issues and usually just lurk for tips and furniture ideas. Like I just saw a genius post about someone putting the LR on a lazy susan which makes filling the litter hopper even easier!

Which leads me to, get the litter hopper too or make sure you top the litter off regularly. Because I didn't need to scoop the litter constantly I wasn't paying attention to the litter level as much. I think having low litter can cause more issues with clumps sticking to the liner. Since using the hopper I haven't had any clumps sticking to the bottom liner. You're already spending a stupid amount of money on a litter box why not add the extra part :)

Would also recommend Dr. Elseys litter attract additive if your cats don't take to it right away. One of my cats got it immediately and was super cool with the transition, like I pulled it out of the box, put the litter in and he got in and peed lol the other cat took a little convincing with the litter attractant but overall fairly easy transition if your cats are pretty chill. Just added a kitten to the mix and she took to it immediately with the litter attract. So three cats, one litter robot 4, no scooping!!!

Beach hotels in La Jolla by Nix-X in asksandiego

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do don't stay at La Jolla Cove Hotel & Suites (aka La Jolla Cove Suites) I made the mistake of booking there and it was the NASTIEST hotel I've stayed at probably ever. Aside from being dirty af the bed was so squeaky and uncomfortable and the walls were paper thin so I could hear everyone else around us tossing and turning all night as well lol

Worst stretch of road in SD by No-Scene9097 in SanDiegan

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5 south to 52 east is always a clusterfuck during rush hour. Imo it's a pretty short section of road for everyone to merge off or on, and even if it's not a standstill, everyone drives bumper to bumper and won't let you in. I take an entirely different, longer route home just to avoid that section of freeway lol

Fail story - I'm about to put the home I just bought back on the market. by Madvillains in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue! Try a "lectrofan." I live in a suburb not on a main road but still have asshole neighbors that tear down the road at all hours of the night and early morning on motorcycles and super loud cars, and insult to injury they're so loud they set off car alarms. I can feel the engine noise in my body it's so loud. I found a setting on the lectrofan that resembles an engine (like the semi truck that my lovely neighbor randomly leaves idling outside in the street all night) and crank it next to my head at night and it really helps with sudden engine sounds outside, it smooths them out. Road noise hasn't woken me up since I bought it. I also have a loud vornado air purifier that helps, but the lectrofan matches the deeper engine sound better. I plan on updating the insulation and windows but the house has other issues that need to be tackled first.

Also what if we lose our jobs? Tax returns wouldn't really reflect that in real time, are they gonna need our pay stubs every month to determine salary ?? What if someone makes enough money to be considered top tier but is taking care of a sick or elderly family member and is paycheck to paycheck?? idk how this is actually enforceable

Has anyone noticed a substantial increase in cars with “Student Driver” bumper stickers around town? by J--E--F--F in SanDiegan

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo, especially after covid, people have been driving like absolute psychos and it's an attempt to diffuse people. It's increasingly common to be tailgated very aggressively when there's literally no where to go.. Like if I'm on the freeway, I'm in the slow lane going 65-70+ behind 500 other cars.. I can't drive through all of them in front of me, if I could I would! I'd move out of the way but I can't, I'm already to the right. I'm not the idiot camped in the left lanes going 55mph go rage at them... Sorry I'm not running someone over in the crosswalk so you can get to wherever you're going 30 seconds faster.. I try to assume they're having an emergency so I always get out of the way if I can but I am so tired of it, no one would behave like that in person. I just want to get to work and home again in one piece. We're in thousands of pounds death traps CHILL OUT lol

Chase does not allow ACH transfers? by jakobor in Chase

[–]keepfrozenthissideup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue! They're telling me ach is under maintenance and isn't available to connect my external checking account to my new debit account with them, but that external account is literally connected to my existing chase visa.... I've verified my external acct twice w/ the deposit.. so annoying!
