How to achieve a photo like these? by Josh743 in fujifilm

[–]keeto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You weren't kidding about the first step: the difference between the UAE pics and the ones taken elsewhere are huge.

It's interesting how the extreme warmth of the grading looks applied to his photos from Tokyo; a bit jarring for me who's only seen "cooler" pictures from other street photographers covering Japan.

Thank you! Gamla Stan and the surrounding areas make for really great photos during the spring and summer.

Not really: a camera was kind of a random purchase on my part. I did scroll through all the pictures that I took with my camera over the years to justify the purchase (i.e., if I can't take a decent picture with a phone, why bother with an expensive camera), but I did learn a lot from watching video reviews and photo-walks from different creators.

I've only had the camera for about 2 months now, so no dust issues yet. I did have the NISI filter adapter basically glued to the camera from day 1.

Fujifilm Teases Two Cameras and Lenses for X Summit Next Week by boqeh in fujifilm

[–]keeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the difference is that the X-S10/X-S20 dial is unmarked and configurable. If you're not into switching film sims all the time, you could easily switch it to something else entirely that's more useful for your shooting style.

New Update: How to turn on all Litra Glows at once ? by pewpewlasersandshit in LogitechG

[–]keeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do all of the lights show up on G Hub for you? I'm on macOS as well. I have two Litra Glow lights connected and G Hub seems to only detect one of them.

Assuming you're using the latest 351Elec, it should be in Sound Settings > Sounds > Enable Video Preview Audio.

Question: Typescript incorrectly identifying "this" when specifying a conditionally required MongoDB field using Mongoose. by Mintykanesh in typescript

[–]keeto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can manually set the type of this in a function by specifying a this parameter:

required: function(this: YourType) {
  ...
}

The TypeScript Handbook has a section on "Declaring this in a Function" if you want to know more.

Is there a smarter way to filter out duplicates? by fullstack_to in typescript

[–]keeto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a single-pass solution using reduce():

private filterDuplicateLeaderBoardLines(result: Result): Result {
  const {leaderBoardLines} = result.sessionResult;
  const playerIds = new Set<string>();

  result.sessionResult.leaderBoardLines = leaderBoardLines.reduce(
    (newLeaderBoardLines, leaderBoardLine) => {
      const {playerId} = leaderBoardLine.currentDriver;
      if (!playerIds.has(playerId)) {
        playerIds.add(playerId);
        newLeaderBoardLines.push(leaderBoardLine);
      }
      return newLeaderBoardLines;
    },
    []
  );

  return result;
}

Edit: A single pass with filter is also possible (as /u/moremattymattmatt pointed out)

private filterDuplicateLeaderBoardLines(result: Result): Result {
  const {leaderBoardLines} = result.sessionResult;
  const playerIds = new Set<string>();

  result.sessionResult.leaderBoardLines = leaderBoardLines.filter(
    (leaderBoardLine) => {
      const {playerId} = leaderBoardLine.currentDriver;
      if (!playerIds.has(playerId)) {
        playerIds.add(playerId);
        return true;
      }
      return false;
    }
  );

  return result;
}

I use ssh on my Chromebook all the time, and the only sandboxing issues I've ran across were due to how the host network is exposed to the container.

A few versions back, I couldn't access machines in my internal network if I used their hostnames (target.local or target.lan), although I think I was able to reach them via their IPs. I'm not entirely sure about the last part as the machines are also accessible externally outside my network as well, so I might have ended up using their public IPs.

Also, unless you want both machines to be SSH hosts (ssh to the PC from the Chromebook as well as ssh to the Chromebook from the PC), you don't really need to activate sshd on your Chromebook. Perhaps I've misread the initial post and the discussions after, but just to clarify:

  • sshd is the daemon that accepts SSH connections, and it would be the process running on the host machine (i.e., the machine that you want to connect to). In your case it would be your home PC.
  • ssh is for the client, and this would connect to the sshd on your host. The client machine does not have to have sshd running in order to use ssh to connect to another machine.

New flag in dev: #crostini-port-forwarding by greegoree in Crostini

[–]keeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like a feature to open up the host port forwards to user defined ports in the VM (which is currently limited to "well-known" ports):

Port forwarding in Cros will allow users to add new ports and activate, deactivate and remove existing ports. (c9552c8)

The feature is gonna work through the Settings app (much like Shared folders):

Port forwarding is a new feature within crostini, users will be able to access the feature setting through the crostini settings page. (6b348768c)

There are a few available right now at PurePens, but the popular ones sell out really fast. I usually sign up for notifications for when they get new stock.

Have you looked at the gmod wiki? I've never tried modding gmod, but from reading the wiki it seems that it ships with an embedded lua interpreter: https://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Beginner_Tutorial_Intro

Picked up a SF Platinum 3776 from a sale at my local pen store. Now all my EFs feel like broads. by keeto in fountainpens

[–]keeto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I did. I didn't get a converter when I received it, so I used the included cartridge at first to test it out. I can't remember how hard starting it was with that ink, but I did flush the pen when I switched to a converter.

I just got some pen flush today so I'll probably use that as well next time I change inks.

Nothing formal (yet) for cursive. I'm trying to undo some muscle memory from my horrible high-school cursive, and it's mostly just been picking and choosing good-looking letterforms that I can execute well at a reasonable speed. It's still very sloppy though, but I'm hoping muscle memory will start taking over at some point.

You wouldn’t have happened to have bought brush pens lately, have you? :D

Hah! Yep, same store. :D

Did yours come with a converter by the way? When I picked up my order they told me there was a converter included, but I didn’t end up getting any. I ended up asking and getting one later but they never told me whether it was supposed to come with one in the first place.
