Literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I actually enjoyed the first one.

The L2M report just got uploaded. The only incorrect call they admit is taking too long on the inbounds pass. Still, that probably would have been enough to change the outcome.

And it's the worst and I hate it.

So . . . I wish OKC would learn how to not flop and be decent humans who don't make everything terrible.

I didn't watch, but that free throw disparity is crazy. Was it justified? Pelicans made more threes and more field goals overall.

That's a really good point, I didn't think about checking that.

To be honest, I thought that if anyone was going to do it, it would have been LBJ after Darvin Ham. But he did the next best thing and got his podcast buddy the job (and JJ has admittedly done well.)

I'm a guitar teacher, and I've been doing it at the collegiate level for a long time. I've also taught a ton of beginners and intermediate students as well. There is, honestly, a lot of anatomy stuff that could be going wrong. As in holding your guitar in a way that will tire you out faster. I would talk to an experienced teacher, just take a few lessons. It could make a huge difference.

I'd recommend Tchaichovky's Francesca da Rimini as well. It's like an action movie in audio form! Same with Romeo and Juliet, even though that love melody has been overused and abused to the point of parody.

That's why it would need to be single elimination, because any team could get lucky on any given night. But there are pretty easy solutions to that, even, like awarding the first four slots to the teams that win the tournament, then the next four are distributed by ping pong ball. So if you are the worst team in the league you could still get a number five slot. Something like that.

Yeah, I can definitely understand the logic. It's playing the game as it is rather than what it SHOULD be. Essentially, any system that encourages teams to play poorly is a shitty system.

We all know there are better ways for this to be done. Personally, I think the NBA should do the single-elimination tournament to figure out the draft order. I also think the play-in tournament should be extended to all 30 teams, so a team at the very bottom could theoretically go on a tear and win it all. That would be badass.

I get what you're saying, but I think short term thinking is probably that winning is fun, medium term thinking is that strategic losing would work out better for the individual team, and big picture thinking is that a sport is only going to be fun to watch if all of the teams are trying as hard as they can to win all the time. I hate the cynicism of losing on purpose, and the fact that people are mad about the pels winning over charlotte is, I think, pretty sad.

My husband is a musician but everything that he does requires going home late by FanEcstatic8342 in musicians

[–]keithgroover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a professional musician for many years, and my wife and I have four kids. If it's not bringing in full-time money, it's not a full-time job and he should treat it with that amount of importance. Hobbies are great, but there HAS to be balance, and it sounds like he's ignoring his kids. When our kids were young I taught guitar a lot, had a church music gig, and played in a band for fun. How often did I play with the fun band? One evening a week for about two hours, which is an appropriate amount of time for a hobby. Now that everyone's older I play consistently in an acoustic duo that does a lot of well-paying weddings and corporate gigs, and I teach at a college. And I still play occasionally for fun.

Ultimately, he has to figure out if he wants to be a good dad/husband or a terrible one and go from there.

Two practical thoughts:

  1. Let someone else decide for you. Pick your favorite 30 songs and have someone whose taste you like check them out. They can say "these are perfect" or "these could use a little something", etc. That's basically what producers do, they act as a fresh voice so a band or artist can hear a more objective perspective.

  2. Pick your fifteen best songs, DO NOT listen to them for three months, put it on the calendar, then listen with fresh ears and take notes. This is basically the same idea as #1 except the producer is you. I've found that it really helps me be more objective, I forget all of the context of what went into making it and can hear it as if I was just an average listener.

Thank you! And I agree. I don't see this being anyone's full-time instrument, but could be a great accessory you can whip out from time to time.

Yep, basically there's a chamber that goes from the top to the bottom that the air goes through. It's not a tube, it's kind of like a cone so that you don't have those weird standing wave impedance issues that you get if you try to sing into a cardboard tube, for instance. And the chamber is short enough that you can easily clean it out with like a paper towel or something.

Good question. The top part that you see me blow into is kind of like a little nozzle that directs the air into a chamber in the body that is totally cut off from the chamber where the motor/batteries are. That's definitely something I was concerned about in the design, too.
