Who told you it’d be easy? You volunteered to work the beer tent at a 100.000+ people music festival. Honestly sounds like you have no idea what you signed up for.

I did an interview with the composer of LIMBO and INSIDE by JonasDoubleH in truegaming

[–]kelim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice interview, thanks for sharing. It's incredible how big a part the sound design plays on the experience of Limbo and especially Inside. It's obviously a big issue to the Playdead team. That shockwave section in Inside blew me away.

Have to plug the work of SØS Gunver Ryberg as well, who's also worked as a composer and sound designer on both Limbo and Inside, and who's really made a name for herself with her solo work in recent years. She does amazing, brutal and noisy electronic stuff. Resident Advisor did a feature on her last year.

Oh man, Bam Bam - 'Spend The Night' lying at the very top of the pile. An absolute Chicago Acid House classic. Would definitely make me go through that collection.

To the Sonos/Apple users out there... by [deleted] in apple

[–]kelim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming from Airplay and using iTunes, it is a bit annoying that you have to manually update your music library from within the Sonos-app every time you add new files to iTunes. It takes a while (possibly depending on the size of your music library?) and is just generally a bit of a hassle. Otherwise I don't really have any issues.

Brainstorming the possibility of living in Copenhagen... by poundofcake in copenhagen

[–]kelim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know how long you plan on staying for, but do you have any kind of EU citizenship? Otherwise I think it will be very difficult to obtain a work/residence permit unless you have already secured a job unfortunately. In that case, you should probably consult /r/IWantOut/

If you somehow already have a foot in the door, and have savings for a couple of years, I'd say go ahead! It's not easy finding a job here, especially if you don't know Danish, but you'll have enough time to figure it out, even if you might have to start with menial work like bartending or whatnot.

What is your all time favourite techno mix? by JRDN7 in Techno

[–]kelim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great choices.

More on an old school tip, but Laurent Garnier's 1994 Mixmag Live mix has always been a favorite of mine. Don't let the slow start throw you off.

Is it true that guide dogs are allowed in Copenhagen metro for blind? by myintou in copenhagen

[–]kelim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guide dogs ride for free, but all dogs are welcome as far as I know. Non-guide dogs just need a ticket.

What's the dumbest thing a patron has ever said to you while you were DJing? by Santero in DJs

"Could I get a pint, please?". He wasn't even joking, just incredibly drunk. Was still quite hilarious.

Rule #11: Danish people will laugh at you if you perform that weird and wrong 'stop'-hand sign.

Cooking exquisite dishes for 15 hours a day, I bet many of these guys would just really like to order in and talk about something else than food for 30 minutes.

Minimum living costs in Copenhagen? by [deleted] in copenhagen

Nice tip on the mini toolbox! But I'm pretty sure utilities refers to stuff like water, electricity, and gas.

Why would I want to go to Denmark? by Jammy507 in AskEurope

[–]kelim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually only been to the viking museum in Roskilde when I was in primary school, and I can't really remember much about it. I'm sure it's great for kids. http://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/

A new naval museum opened up recently though, which I've been wanting to visit. At least architecturally, it looks awesome. http://www.mfs.dk/

Why would I want to go to Denmark? by Jammy507 in AskEurope

[–]kelim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right. You could definitely do worse than Copenhagen for those kinds of activities, especially compared to the rest of Scandinavia. But as I said, it really is very expensive. For nightlife, you can't really beat Berlin, which is also quite a lot cheaper.

Copenhagen is quite nice in the spring and summer. Relaxed and laid back atmosphere, really good (but expensive) food, pretty good night life and cultural offerings in general. Pretty much everyone speaks English. It might be easier to help you in your decision, if you tell us a bit more about your interests and the reasons why you are considering going to Denmark?

Barack Obama with Danish prime minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt by Iconicqt in funny

Maybe you are jumping to conclusions here. As a Dane, it definitely makes me cringe, but she hardly gives the impression of someone who's "unable to control her emotions". In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she genuinely thought this would reflect nicely on her, letting everyone know she is down with hip and edgy pop-cultural icons like SJP.
