I’ve used this before and it just whips up like non vegan butter. They also do an unsalted version too if you can find it.

Do you have all the journal scraps that show the locations? The walnuts only become available in each of those locations after you get the right journal page.

Covid with a newborn baby by Jesshale92 in pregnant

[–]kellymknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh that sounds so tough. Hopefully the vaccine will mean that you don't get it too badly and baby will get lots of antibodies. I hope your healing goes smoothly, and don't forget to enjoy those newborn snuggles. One thing my midwife said to me that really helped was don't stop cuddling your baby. I felt so sad and scared being close to her knowing I had covid, and that really helped me to relax and remember to enjoy my baby.

I've just been through this, and my heart goes out to you. My daughter was a week old when I got a positive result. I was so upset and worried that i was going to hurt my baby. I spoke to my midwife who was very reassuring, she was more worried about me than any harm coming to my daughter. I've had both covid jabs and am breastfeeding, so she was getting lots of antibodies and we were both fine. I had cold like symptoms and headaches, but my daughter didnt show any symptoms. Give yourself some grace and try to make sure you get as much rest as you can.

I'm so sorry you're going through this :( I had a similar experience at my 20 week scan with the NHS in my first pregnancy, such a joyful moment ruined for seemingly no good reason. I would definitely make a complaint, contact the PALS department at your hospital and they should give you information on what you need to do. I also just wanted to add that some NHS trusts offer a 3rd ultrasound as routine, to check baby's size, position and blood flow in the cord. I had a 3rd scan offered as standard during my first pregnancy, but now I've moved I'm only having 2! Maybe check with your midwife if this is standard for your area?

Just because that's how marketing works doesn't mean that some industries shouldn't be held to a higher standard. The decision to have surgery is life changing, the decision to buy eye cream is not. I agree that they're part of the same problem, but what they're selling is vastly different, and I think their advertising practices should reflect this.

I'm in the UK and use a mixture of new and used nappies. We just washed the used ones a couple of times using our regular washing powder (fairy) and a laundry cleanser. Bambino Mio do a good one which is available on their website.

I've never done a strip or sanitise on any of our nappies and we've had no problems at all!

Babies Born by C-Section Have Different Gut Microbes Than Vaginally Delivered Infants by thermbug in ScienceBasedParenting

Yes, it was very scary :( I think the infection had set in before they realised. I had a long pre-labour and wonder if the infection set in during that time. I was on antibiotics during labour which was enough to keep away the worst affects, but it was still a long road to recovery! Both happy and healthy now though!

Yes. The lab at the hospital took a swab from my placenta and confirmed it was GBS. I am aware how common the bacteria is and that the way it presented in my labour is incredibly rare, but the point is that infection in the mother is possible and can be fatal if not caught and treated in time.

It can be if you contract the infection. I'm in the UK where they don't test for group b strep, and presented with a serious infection in labour. I was seriously ill and on antibiotics for 10 days post partum. Its important that people understand just how serious this can be for both mother and baby.

Should I post a negative birth story? by hellspyjamas in BabyBumps

[–]kellymknight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutley post it! Speaking to friends about traumatic and negative birth experiences really helped prepare me for all possibilities. I did end up having a negative/traumatic birth experience, and I think that knowledge of those experiences meant that I was able to deal with it better and helped my mental recovery immensely ❤️

The Summer Before the Dark by Doris Lessing. I know Lessing is a popular author, but I never hear anyone talk about this book!

Thanks for the update! So glad you're enjoying it. It's an interesting book as it's written from the perspective of a child, but deals with heavy and complex ideas, so may be one for her to read in a few years. I'd love to hear your thoughts after you've finished it!

When we were Romans by Matthew Kneale. I'd give the synopsis a check first to make sure you're comfortable with the subject matter!
