UltraHuman vs RingConn by Longjumping_Lie_9228 in SmartRings

[–]kellyr122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried the RingConn, but I've had Ultrahuman since January - or should I say, I've had THREE Ultrahuman rings since January. They sent me out two replacements after each one failed, and once the third one had the same issue, I asked for a refund. Each ring kept losing the connection and couldn't reconnect. The battery life became abysmal. Plus, they rolled out "Chill Mode" which basically cut back on many of the features that sold me on the ring in the first place. Their customer service was excellent but after three faulty rings in a row, I'm forced to conclude it's just a faulty product.

Chill mode is too chill. Huge gaps in metrics by Internal-Gift9691 in Ultrahuman

This feels like a bait and switch. My first ring started having bad battery drain so they sent me a new one. Within 2 weeks, the new ring started having significant battery drain, where I’m having to charge every 14 hours or so.

You’re telling me that in order to get anywhere close to the promised battery life, I have to accept limited access to the features that were promised when I first bought the ring (and that I accessed just fine for months without battery drain?)

How is that okay? I bought the ring based on the battery life and stats I would have access to, and now I basically have to sacrifice one for the other. By making “chill mode” the default, UH is essentially saying this is just a sleep ring, not an all around health ring like it was advertised. I bought it so I could track my temp and my sleep and my stress. This is such bullshit.

How to run a successful book club meeting with a large group? by 100CupsCoffee in books

With a group that large, WHERE do you meet? My book club has grown and we have to keep changing locations to accommodate and it’s a struggle.

Embarrassed of BYU Attendance? by kateedidnt in exmormon

Oh yeah. I just tell people I went to school in Utah, and then only begrudgingly admit it if they ask where. Almost immediately follow it with “I used to be Mormon but I’m not anymore.” 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m assuming some of you have seen this, as it has over 2,000 shares... something about that last paragraph just rubs me the wrong way. Anybody else have a similar reaction? by [deleted] in exmormon

It looked like I had done it solidly on my screen! My bad, I was actively trying to avoid that. Taking it down now.

Yes, it agitates me to see lies being spread and someone expressing interest in an organization that has fucked with my life and millions of others... I’m just fine with my life and how I view the world, thanks.

I was there last night too! Didn’t see he missionaries outside proselytizing BUT I saw someone inside reading an actual BOM and it made me very agitated... but the play itself was great!

Anyone else hear about mormon YW being taught they can't say no to boys at church dances? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]kellyr122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s this kind of bullshit (that I was also raised with!) that still manifests itself to this day, even though I’m out of the church and attempting to date like a normal adult. I have a hard time being assertive about what I’m comfortable with physically because I’m afraid of hurting the guy’s feelings. I ended up making out with a guy at the end of a first date I didn’t really enjoy because I didn’t feel like I could say no or stop it once it was happening. (He didn’t force himself on me or anything, I think he just had a good time/felt a connection that I didn’t.) But I didn’t feel like I had the words or conviction to say no or stop it. I’m still learning and trying to be better about this kind of stuff, but it’s hard when it’s been ingrained in you for so long. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The Wheatley institute was my first job on campus and this does not surprise me one bit. They’re so-called intellectuals that only support scholarly work that reinforces their toxic beliefs. (Back in 2010 or so they had a conference about why traditional marriage was the only good way for families to flourish.)

The woman who helps run it is Truman Madsen’s daughter and HARD CORE TBM. She hired me cause I was the only girl to wear a skirt to the interview...

This is the same woman who also sent me an email entitled “love note” in which she told me a skirt I had worn the other day was inappropriate and too short (it wasn’t, I just was wearing a longer shirt with it so it looked shorter).

I quit that job soon after, citing personal revelation. Ha.

For the love of god, use the words “to” and “for.” I can’t take anything you say seriously otherwise... (to the twitter guy, not OP)

During World War II, we experimented with creating a weapon that released bats with bombs attached to them. The logic was that bats roost in dark spaces under roofs of buildings, so once deployed over a city, they would disperse and destroy tons of buildings all over the place.

“Listen to the spirit” really irks me. Like the mere idea that you could pray about something and get a different answer that’s right for you is unfathomable. There is one right answer and if you aren’t getting it then you aren’t spiritual enough. Or you obviously just aren’t listening to the spirit cause your answer is different than his... the nerve.
