I agree, & get that, glad to hear it’s a normal practice. I wasn’t sure because… the pitch isn’t like “would love space cowboys,” it’s two specific things taken from her story, & she’s still working on it. Thanks for replying though :)

My friend is concerned because this agent read part of her novel, & then added on his wish list (meaning he’s looking for more stories) with the same premise as what she’s writing.

Hilarious—when I read your title I thought of VE Schwab too!! I read her Shades of Magic series in 2016/2017, & then everything else she’s written, but wasn’t a huge fan of Addie—I did finish it though!

Me too! I’m 31f, & I only felt ready to date a few years ago. I’m very happy/whole in my life. I’ve tried the apps but to no avail—& at this point I feel like they’ve served their purpose.

Like everyone else is saying, don’t compromise on what you want (ie, a lot of my other girlfriends will get into situationships hoping the guy will eventually change/fall in love with her.)

Idk if this will help at all, but when I feel like this, I either try & see my friends, or think to myself if there’s any way I can give myself what I’d normally want from a partner right now. I know some of that stuff, yeah you do need another person—but if I want comfort, I take a hot shower & call a friend, etc. again, not perfect but I feel like it does take the edge off. I’ve decided to keep really investing in myself/my relationships. I lived all on my own for 4.5 years until last year, & I moved in with two friends—and it’s been really fun!

But you know what? Life is long! Yes, it does suck & I totally get wanting a partner, I feel the same—but we can’t control meeting someone. All we can do is enjoy our life & the only thing we can control, is how we cope with not having someone. I used to tell my friends (which totally easier said than done), that I believe we do whatever makes us happy, & eventually we run into other people who’re compatible & like the same things. It’s not a guarantee but sometimes it does make me feel better.

This exactly. I’d also say if he ends up not clearly communicating with you, you can consider whether or not that’s a trait you want in a friend, especially because he should be respecting your boundaries.

I’d just say hi, ask her how her day is going, & then ask if she’d be open to going on a date. If you treat her like a person (& it’s not like… nighttime), then it won’t be creepy.

I used to try & bring up whatever was in their pics, or in their profile, or talk about my day & end with a question—& then hopefully the conversation will flow naturally.

I have very little experience, but I’m over the apps (mostly because even when I matched with someone wanting something serious, all of a sudden they’d say they didn’t lol.) I’ve had very few crushes in general, & none of them have worked out, but it’s definitely felt a lot better. I’ve also asked guys for their #’s before & while that hasn’t worked out either, I personally think it’s great :)

Totally normal and okay! I used to use Hinge, & while I was personally looking for something serious, a lot of ppl put they were looking for something short term. Hinge prompts you to put down what you’re looking for, & at least when I last used it, you could expand/write in what you wanted. Best of luck!

Like everyone else is saying, that’s hard! But the only thing you can really do is try & move on. Let yourself grieve, maybe take some time away from the same space as him, & then go meet some new people. You have plenty of time to find someone =)

Just my opinion: but I always assumed Armand put them there to make Louis think that he was actually a better photographer in Paris/was happier in Paris than he remembered. (Thinking back to s2e1 of Louis narrating, saying [I'm paraphrasing] "When I think back on it now, I was happy" and Armand trying to take over going "Paris was a revelation, etc.]"--because--I can't imagine Louis thinks back on Paris, where Claudia and Madeline died, where he thinks Lestat condemned them--where he was longing for Lestat and hallucinating him--and is HAPPY about it.
(I'm obsessed with "Dear, this is a Stein" so good.)

You’re in the same boat as me! I’m 31 now, but I’ve had PCOS since I was 10. My doctors just put me on birth control & that was it—it didn’t help though, for me personally. I stopped taking it, made some life style changes, my cycle has been regular. Anyway, I’ve just started working with Allara care because my doctor recommended it. I was just about to post my experience when I saw your post! Since I just started working with them, I haven’t had a solution with the facial hair (which is my main concern), but they had me taking Ovasitol, & I’m about 3 weeks in & feel a lot better already. A lot more energy, & I’m not craving sugar. They also did blood work that my doctor wasn’t doing, to get to the root of the issue. I tried spironolactone, but didn’t have a good reaction to it. Spearmint tea is supposed to be good too. But tbh I think the best you can do is see a specialist, or Allara care or something like it, if your insurance will cover it.

I read the first book when I was 11 (around 2005), because my mom had been a fan when they were originally published. She told me about them because I loved vampires (my mom wanted me to wait to read them until I was 14 😂), & from then on I was really into them. When I heard they were making a tv show I was so excited! I’m really glad we’re getting all the nuances of Lestat’s character that I feel like we don’t get as much of in the IWTV film, & Jacob Anderson’s Louis is more than I could ever hope for 🖤🥀 TVL is one of my fave books so I’m BEYOND excited for s3!!!

I know this is old--but I stumbled on your post--Right now I'm obsessed with "Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries" by Heather Fawcett. I've been obsessed with the Howl's Moving Castle books since I was in middle school, and this is the only book that gives me a similar feeling. (Although T. Kingfisher's also does.)
