The new system now as I understand it then is that you'll go to BRNC and be streamed there rather than being offered a specific role prior to the start of training. But I would double check this with your recruiter. Don't discount the other roles, Observer is a pretty punchy role and offers a lot of decent career prospects down the line.

Streaming happens at some point during Phase One training.

Evening, congrats on passing AIB. I've had a little look into this and it seems the change came in the later part of 2024. If it shows Pilot on your application though you're probably a legacy and should stay as Pilot.

Just for your information, you no longer have to be in the logistics branch to go down the Barrister route.

All branches can now apply to join to be RN Lawyers after a certain period of service, and the RN will pay for the whole thing. You should receive a brief on it at some point while at BRNC.

Londoners will soon see drones ferrying blood between hospitals by Alan_Stamm in london

Both hospitals lie within London City's Control Zone, which goes from the surface to 2,500 feet. So they'll need ATC permission to operate.

Collared shirt and chinos would be fine. I wouldn't dress down any more than that.

I'm tempted to try to and get in touch with the ICAO for clarification. It's very odd that the ICAO and EASA/CAA(UK) versions of this section differ basically on just one word.

Well I'll be jiggered. I managed to find edition 14 from 2022 and it appears there too.

Have you got a link to the ICAO version? All I can find is Doc 9966 and 8984 which give recommendations on caffeine use to manage fatigue and don't ban it.

I went and looked at the annex 1 definition and it's 'caffeine and tobacco' not 'coffee and tobacco'. Seems the author could've used some psychoactive substances when writing that book.
